As soon as you find out the dyno plot Simon, you'll have to get a moderator to change the title of this thread ! Fingers crossed for you mate, you'll be the 3rd VX in the UK with over 400 BHP :)

Does anyone know of any other 400 BHP UK based VXes? I know of one in Scotland with a C20LET in it, but thats all. I did hear rumours of a powerful one in Ireland that came over for some drag runs at Santa Pod once...

Im not entirely sure he has installed that engine in his VX. I have emailed and rung him about it and he has gone mysteriously quiet. The last I heard, he had only just got it back on the road after ages with it's original engine. Maybe I have missed a posting about it... if so can you point me at it pls :)

I think I can even hear the engine screaming from here in Bristol ;) If the power is still climbing at 7000 RPM, are you going to extend the rev range as thats quite conservative? Those generic rods that CS sell must surely be good for 7500 RPM and probably more. Pistons mean velocity at 8000 RPM is approx 23m/s which is acceptable for your semi-forged pistons (same mould and casting process as mine)

I think you'll find that the revs needle most certainly goes further than that old chap, I've seen mine pointing at the fuel bars !

Seriously though, I forgot about your head being standard, so that is the limiting factor. I think Chris Randal takes his standard head upto 7500 RPM. We can't let the Z22SE engined chaps out-rev us, as we have the advantage with a shorter stroke !

My redline is usually 7500 but I regularly take it up to 7800 if it helps save a gearchange on track and seen no issues at all.
