a really solid, reliable well mapped 400ish would be ideal I reckon - should achieve that with this setup and aftermarket ECU :>

I'm just glad you don't live closer Simon as those evil modification thoughts could pop back into my head again lol

I'm such a bad passenger anywhere but the track it'll scare me to death! The SC Elise scared me and that was pretty slow in comparison :P

Just spoken with DG :) The only problem Chris is having at the moment is holing the power back!!!! The response is virtually the same as a K04 but... At 3500rpm its producing 250bhp... It then goes linier and at 4000rpm is producing 28psi! Chris is amazed at the response and power the Garrett's producing and more mappings required to try and smooth the delivery out! :D So very very pleased with where we are at right now, no boost leaks, no coolant or oil leaks, perfect running temps & AFR's, just got to try and control a turbo that just wants to BOOST! :) To be continued...

Have you not got a boost controller Simon?

Stock boost solenoid works on quite a surprisingly high frequency. Also, they aren't very reliable and we have taken to upgrading them on all our high powered conversions.

Excellent news, 250 BHP @ 3500 RPM is about double what mine makes. Makes me realise how badly I need to put some verniers in mine and check the timing of my Piper cams.

Hi Chris,

Are you using the solinoid off the vag world ones?

Mapping OE solenoid throught the ECU is 'cleaner', however a boost controller is sooooo much easier and gives more direct control over boost (instead of it changing with the weather, literally). As long as the fuel, ignition, MAF, etc. are mapped for that boost level then no reason not to run a boost controller.

No, we use a proper industrial one. Think they are made by mac, aem turbosmart etc all rebrand them

If your ecu has proper closed loop boost control (which I assume this one does) there is absolutely no reason whatsoever to add a boost controller.

His ECU will allow easy access to in gear boost limits. I think he's intending to get a laptop in there, so he can effectively set his max desired boost per gear before setting off.
