Sorry to see your having problems Si.If the crank sensor is scored it might be the same problem I had with my last engine which was the trigger wheel bolts shearing though as far as I am aware mine is the only one that has done that but the only way to check is taking the sump off to have a look.Hope you get it sorted soon :grouphug:

I've had a trigger wheel fail before too and my machinist (who removed the bolts) said he had done a few. Obviously a weak point in the engine.

Looking exactly like this Dave H has had the sump off & bolt heads in the oil :(

Spent far too much time that really could have been spent on other interests last year on the car to do the same this year as well, the car is now Dave H's & I'm sure he'll carry on the good work & very sure he'll see the 400+ out of it, me I'll still be arround just need to get car / life balance back in sync!

Blimey Si, you really have fallen out with the thing haven't you! Presume this was the final straw, thing is, it is only a car at the end of the day, you could always buy another at some point in the future. (if you ever feel the need that is)

I read mrsimba's post that he had passed it on to Dave H to complete the work not that he's sold it to Dave H? Have I read it wrong??

That's a shame after you've built it up to that point and it's consumed so much time/money. Saw it for the second time at AutoSport and it really was a fantastic looking car.

Many thanks guys :) I know I could pull it all apart & re-build but thats what I spent most of last year doing, with working long hours it leaves me very little time to do anything else, think I'll need the sat nav to remember where the gym is at the moment, in fact I've actually been to EFi more times this year than the gym! So its just reached the point where I've lost the motivation to spend then next xx months doing it all again that really I now value the car as 'parts' and have sold it as such. Dave's a fantastic bloke & he's spent most of yesterday trying to talk me out of it but its now a chore not a passion and has been a money pit for more than a few months now, when the ECU died with a power spike think it cost me an extra £2k to go standalone, which is fantastic but it was another £2k to find that was not planned, and the extra expenses keep coming in & keep going out, and all the time other hobbys & interest sit on the back burner, so I decided a while back that the 'next' big unexpected was going to be my 'stop' point and this is it! Don't get me wrong its been great fun & with very very few regrets, but time to have a few more thing going on in my life than just a pair of feet sticking out from under a VX!!! :grouphug:
