Lol was not meant to ruffle any feathers, just my opinion of the whole car not just the power plant ;-) You still have to wait for for the engine to wind up for power on a sc ;-) but no arguing it's super silky delivery no turbo would matc DG

Quite right, we do indeed. That wait whilst your right foot moves between partial throttle and WOT is an absolute killer.

Well done Dave (& Chris), I was talking to Simon the other night and he was telling me all about the hard work you have been putting in.

Those graphs really do look good, particularly the first one with the boost set to waste-gate spring threshold.

I have not changed from what Simon fitted. Exhaust housing is the Tial V band. I think the 28/67 is an ideal turbo for this engine, good choice by Simon. Dave

Any results on the ARP head stud kit you were after Dave?

When I was talking to Chris at EFI he mentioned that some of the guys running big (600) BHP were having issues with head gaskets and studs. ARP don't have a stud kit they recommend for the ZLET/H

but from what I can see there are two stud kits available for the CLET and V6 engine (waisted shanks) that are used.

I have been putting some miles on the car the last couple of nights. I have a switch in the boost solenoid circuit which gives it the low power setting which is really nice to drive, much much smoother than my stage 2 car and then a flick of a switch for the more powerful setting. As Aimy has said there is a "boost limit in gear" facility within the ECU which I will look at implementing in the future in 1st and second gear!

The ECU is running closed loop fuel control for some of the time and its nice to see the AFR around the 14.7 until the engine is asked to work a bit harder, will be interesting to see what the fuel consumption is like.

Dave

I have been driving around with the wide band and boost gauge wedged in the radio hole which is not the easiest place to view them. I wanted them at eye level but didn't want to chop into the dash so I have made a pod that utilises the two top bolts of the heater control panel and the cables etc are routed through the starter button hole. It works well but perhaps not to everyones taste, I may try and come up with something a bit more stylish in the future.

I never listen to a sound system while driving a VX so the space is now a "glove box", not that much will remain in it when you stick your foot down!!!!

Dave
