I borrowed DG's Race Logic performance meter earlier in the week and had a couple of runs with it, I'm mindful of the gearbox and needed to drive the car home so the starts were without wheelspin and when they did start to spin I changed into second gently. Third gear revving to 7600 is well over a 100mph.

0-60 4.0s the next milestone was 7.9s, 30-50 1.4s, 50-70 1.2s

I have now added "Launch Control" which is basically a rev limiter until a certain speed is reached where both conditions can be set in the software.

I have also added "Boost in Gear" where the speeds are learned in gears (RPM v road speed) in the software and then the duty cycle of the boost solenoid can be set to limit the boost in any of the gears as required. I just need to spend a bit of time now setting both up. I still have the meter and have used it to set up the speed within the ecu, there is another facility for "Pit Lane Speed Limit" which I have tried but its a bit harsh in its operation so I wont be using that too much.

I did have one slightly disturbing occasion where something big and dark landed on me while I was accelerating, at first I thought it was a Bee or some sort of insect with massive teeth but turned out to be the front locator for the hood bow, quite a relief as I was wearing shorts, its amazing how fast your mind works coming up with the worst scenario!!!

LOL, about 1/2 a second to increase MPH by 10. How scared were you that the tyres lost grip ?!

50-70mph in... 1.2 seconds!!!

Good job its now in your capable hands Dave as in mine at 1.3 seconds the V-Box would have shown the car going through a hedge backwards!!!

Sterling work sir!  Imnotworthy

if it can do launch control, then chances are it can do flat shift

I have set the boost limit in first to 0% so I will just get wastegate threshold boost (9psi). The wheels spin up in second just above max torque on all but hot grippy surfaces so a bit of experimentation is required to determin the boost required. Yes it will do flat shift, the clutch pedal switch (pin 7 connector X2) is connected to a digital input on the ecu and then the flat shift rev limit can be set in the software.

Said it before Dave, cut slicks will make a big improvement to grip and having heard it on launch control on Monday can confirm it sounded VERY VERY group B beastie :D

There is no way you could spin that turbo the same manually waiting to go back in time :)

Exhaust with extra silencer has completly changed the sound of the engine and sounds bigger than it is - very impressive noise levels acheived!

Good to see you using some of the nice extra features of the standalone setup also Dave thumbsup

Also the facility to enrich the mixture and retard the ignition to build up boost (not too kind on the turbo due to the heat generated) ready for a start, if the tyres and gearbox could take it....

Gear dependant boost limits is a gift from the gods if you ask me !

Early start trip down to the national today, was hoping to demonstrate how quiet the exhaust is but the circuit wouldn't let us into the paddock with the rest of the cars. Rob had a listen though! Travelling at about 3000 rpm the 200 odd miles and managed over 36mpg!!! As we couldn't get the car in we decided to do some sightseeing instead.

Great to meet you Dave. Bloody shame how stupid the organisers are in not allowing later entries in, properly frustrating :(

I had a discussion with the guys on the gate at dinner time, one of whom enlightened me he was the boss, I said there were 8 cars outside and that it was our National day and it would be nice if everybody could be together. He replied that he could only let vehicles back in that were going on track, I asked him about the ice cream van...... No reply.......

Any how good to meet a few people and it turned out to be a great weekend for Rose and I in Wales. 250 miles yesterday and 325 today and not a beat missed.

It wound me up and I just think of someone who perhaps has just bought a VX and this was there first time attending the National event and not being able to drive there car in, they would feel well ostracised.....

Dam you can even get into most proper tracks when not tracking, sounds like a private track day not national day at all. Kind of goes against the point surely?

Glad you got the car out and had a blast while the weathers nice :)

Thanks again Dave for taking me out. The sound of the exhaust....what sound! I think it really is a great solution to the track goers...and it looks superbly made of course. See you soon sir :)

The paddock is inside the track, so you have to cross the track which has to be closed to get there. It make perfect sense not to allow people that might come and go into the paddock.
