Poorboys 'black hole' then Autoglym HD wax :)

Went into Guglielmi's on Tuesday for a geo and all the guys took a look over it and were very impressed with Jason's handywork & skills Imnotworthy

Steve asked what the power was... I said 300bhp / 360ft lb he said 'no no you mean NM not ft lb'... 'er no it is definatly ft lb' turns out the car (if the CS dyno is not set to 'pub bragging rights' mode) is only 10ft lb less than his Time Attack beast :tt: His mapping guy was just shaking his head!!!

And when I got back home had an email

Keep us informed as to the handling of your VX.
It is the best one we've seen.
Regards,
Steve

Wow thats a great looking vx you have there :9mm:  Can't believe you've improved the paintwork Imnotworthy Interesting to hear Gugliemi's thumbs up on the car. Tbh the CS 4+ map was done on their latest rolling road which (their words) was on the conservative side  I can clearly remember the day at Courtenay's, those figures were the result of the first dyno run and Jon was kinda scratching his head at how high the torgue figure came out. He considered sending the dyno file reading to Klassen to double-check the results but Jon studied the map for half an hour and decided as it was running a bit rich across the range so he was happy. Unbelievably he said he could could get more power out of it :o but would rather leave it to be on the save side... Enjoy! Cheers, Jason

Nev I'm surprised the paint still manages to cling onto Nippers GRP with the G forces it has to withstand!!! :tt:

Been tinkering again this week :)

Got racked off with the 'rusty' look on the discs so a can of Halfords Hi-Temp black and a bit of masking later...

Posted Image

& now much better :)

Posted Image

Brakes have not 'felt' right since the peaks run and so I went into see Liam @ MMG for him to look at it, system blead fine with no air present then we took the pads out..........

CL5's only 3/4 used

Posted Image

So a 'new' set of CL5's have now gone in & I've emailed CL to see if they know what might have caused this, maybe I'm just not getting the pads hot enough? any suggestions or ideas welcome!

Next up is the wheels...

Love the Braid's but they are just a little too 'bright' against the black so it's in on the 13th to see Paul at '1st Class Alloys' we both after looking at several options have gone for a custom shadow chrome / hi power silver so it'll go from this finish

Posted Image

to this finsh

Posted Image

Pauls also going to colour match the fuel cap & surround at the same time :)

I remember reading a post along time ago on seloc about cl5 doing this, so I hope you just have an early set. Nobody else on here has had a problem with them, but the lotus guys were told by cl that they are track pads and were not given a refund. Steve

I had problems with Rc5+ pads. Mine seemed to harden and go really brittle one pad fell off the backing plate with loads of life left in them. I removed the rest and i could chip the pads of them if i taped them in to each other. Ive not bothered to send them back but i wont be buying anymore! Im on performance friction now and they seem a lot better so far.

i've thrown my CL5s away too. :( didn't feel right. I think you need to go gloss black on the wheels simon. Not sure on the smokey chrome look.

Well at £200 a set the 5+'s better be better than the 'old' 5's!!!

Thought about gloss black JG and if it were a 'solid' colour like the NA black I'd have done so, but against a metallic black it's just too many 'different' blacks contrasting against each other with the wheels, body, screen ect to work :(

Having put one of Pauls 'demo' wheels against the car it really does look
