Thanks Nev thumbsup Yep I guess with another 100bhp I probably won't notice 15ft lb down @ 2500! :D

I think (hopefully) your sensible choice of smaller turbo than mine will result in a torque curve that is less steep than mine, making it easier to map with the OEM ECU and more easily drivable. If I had my time again I would seriously consider the GTX28R67 myself, sadly though it didn't exist 2 years ago when I built my car up. If you look at the compression graphs, the GTX28 has a very simlar Y-axis to the GTX30, meaning it can produce the same boost, however it's small size means it can't push the same volume of air at high revs, thus your turbo will run out of puff at approx 7000 RPM, whereas mine goes all the way to 8000 RPM. HTH.

Just been compairing the Kalssen inlet manifold with the VXR LEH's

So much difference! the runners are litterally half the length, and just feeling inside the ports the LEH is a very small diameter yet the Klassen really expands internally.

Had the rocker cover sent to 'Wicked Coatings' after seeing the great work they had done to Aimys when her car was at MMG :)

They have given it a gloss 'brushed' alloy finish with gloss black plug cover, kinda an 'OE+' look nothing too different but looks

Well half way there!

Spent the day with DG and the engines out, so next step to build up the LEH with the Garrett and gearbox and drop it in :)

So here sits 7996 after a very busy day!

That would be the reflection of trees and field in front of the garage :-) Would have liked to have striped the engine and tidy up but a few hrs of extra fun with tiger seal and zip ties took it toll lol DG

Its fair to say Jason didn't think a job was 'done' unless he'd buried in in Sikoflex (and I mean buried....) when finished!

Took almost two hours to extract (though it was more like excavate) a fuel line!!!

Once you install the new engine, whos gonna fabricate your new downpipe so it mates with the turbo and wategate exit? Is that Duncan's new garage - looks nice and spacious, though it might benefit from some flat surfaces other than the floor (I think they are called shelves and benches Dunc :P ). Good luck, should be easy to re-install (especially for Dunc), just a few extra pipes for the wastegate and the downpipe mod.

The inspection hatch seems really 'brutal' but in practice it really helps with access to the turbo area.

Garage DEFINETLY needs a sort, with moving house and actually working on cars I have just not had time :( dropping MrSimba home before then dropping niece home and then back took a few hrs and by then I had lost the love to clean up lol. So it was stop where we were and leave the deverstation, will be clean again tonight ready for the new engine collection / build ready to finish this weekend One for over winter for a full term solution - want more lighting and get the 1 wall smoothed and floor down etc but have external storage for parts etc - plan to keep the garage free and spacious - 18foot x 12foot and think its 11foot high iirc which is more than enough for my own playing Its hard to see in the pic but there are 4 engines in there :o 3 of them with boxes attached :D As Simon has said need to fabricate the exhaust and intake but other than that its build and bolt back in DG

Im getting excited about this project now. Looking fwd to seeing what sort of power the GXT28 will make. When you take it to be mapped are you going to set them a max boost and power allowable or will your just let them map it to the max? If the latter you need to be aware that your turbo will make well over 2.5 Bar of boost and that would likely blow the welds on your expensive IC. When I took mine over, I gave strict instructions to stop either at 2.0 Bar of boost or 500 BHP, which ever came first. Also remember to tell them to change the shift light threshold as mine still flashes at just 6200 RPM (1700 RPM too early) :(
