Right then, I'd rather get this on pc than Xbox because I've seen how they've stifled the Xbox version to make it play well on there. I built my pc 3 yrs ago I think, with the following spec if my memory serves me correctly: Windows 7 64-bit premium Intel Q6600 processor 4GB DDR2 RAM ATI Radeon 4850 gfx card (can't remember if 512 or 1024MB RAM) Can anyone tell me if that will be good enough to play it at a decent quality and framerate? As long as it looks as good as the console version or better I'll be happy tbh. Most of that spec meets the official recommended standard apart from gfx card, just hoping that won't hold it back too much.

working my way through the single player campaign, just done the paris mission. My poor old launch day Xbox has some problems with a loose heatsink, probably from where its been moved about so much.

Don't try and repair it, I'm pretty sure the repair never lasts very long. Just bite the bullet and buy a new Xbox if you have to (plus they are way quieter and slicker).

In fact I barely lost any money when I did that, you can use your old hdd if you take it apart and then you can sell all the remains of your old xbox and get a few quid back. Think I ended up spending only £50 for my new style Xbox.

Spuk, the cpu and ram should be able to handle it. My Q6600 ran Crysis on max on a small screen with just about playable frame rates. The gfx card will be your biggest bottleneck if you want any kind of large display screen.

If you've got the SLACR core Q6600 (G0 stepped I think), you should up the clock a bit, around 4Ghz is a good target really. But yes, the GPU will be the bottleneck I think. I would say it's still better than console quality (which is basically everything on low haha) but other than that it should run it I would hope... If not, pick up a GTX560Ti, they are amazing cards performance/£ wise. The thing is with BF3, it does like a high GPU RAM, which is where your's would fall down most on, if it's the 512 version.

Just checked and it is 512mb :( . My CPU is that G0 stepped version, did play around with OCing it at first but never followed it for long. I can play Crysis at 1440x900 on medium-high settings and still get 30fps and the console version of BF3 only runs at 30fps (or so my eyes tell me when I played the beta) so if I can get comparable quality and the same or better framerate I'll be happy. Will get it for Xmas and see how I get on and whether I need an upgrade. As an aside, what are peoples' views on upgrading to a single better GFX card or getting another the same as my current one and crossfiring them?

I have played all the Battle field episodes and battle field 3 is a simply awesome war game. This game includes some awesome array of vehicles and gorgeous battle fields which make this success. I have to say, battle field 3 is a striking teamwork result of EA sports.

Got on PC for Xmas, Origin and Battlelog account is same as my .org username if anyone wants to play. Not had chance to play properly (how fcuking long does it take to get a game to install and run these days?? Jesus) but graphics are looking sharper than Xbox but with same framerate which is good enough for me.
