Steve & Steve,

Guys, get the Kumho v70A's, I tried Joe's medium compound tyres & they're like moving up to slicks compared to my AO48's & they don't overheat like the Yoko's or go off as quick...There was no noticeable increase or decrease in oversteer or understeer which I was expecting compared to the AO48's, just massive grip & they were a good 2 seconds a lap quicker....

What tyres are you guys opting for? I wouldn't mind trying a hard compound V70A though, as I quite often spend long stints on track.

Mind you, I've never tried wider AO48's, but I'd imagine any semi slicks in a wider tyre will probably be just as good. I also want to buy a set of wet weather tyres in 215 16" or 17 fronts & 245 17" rear....any ideas? They must be able to cope with semi wet conditions too...

Max

I've been running these wheels all season and telling anyone who'd listen they are the nuts!!! Max, dont forget that alot of your new speed is also due to the fact that you spent better part of £2k on Nitron Race 46 shocks! Not just been a case of dropping new rubber on ;)

Also - I should have kept these wheels/tyres a secret

Do the 215/45/17 federal 595 rsr front on ATS DTC wheels rub? Seems like the 215/40 don´t rub, but i need 215/45 due to equivalence tires. Also...main difference experienced between medium and hard compound kumho v70 tires? (duration, grip...)

I concur with MaxR and Jimmy and other, getting wider wheels + tyres on a VX really does help. I would really recommend squeezing whatever you can under the arches even if it means a bit of rubbage on the fronts at full lock. I also find the V70a tyres excelent for the road, they dont need anywhere near as much warming up as R888s. On the down side, I find my car is slightly less nimble on twisty roads though. HTH.
