Car is back at Liam's Really didn't sound too healthy !! Most important thing for me is to find out why it felt like it was trying to shake itself to death during the final,I am sure Liam will get to it,as we had no under trays on it could be that the rear clam was flapping about?? As I am sure we didn't put all the bolts back in! Looking back I can't believe we did what we did getting to snetterton,it was a insane weekend for sure,I don't even know how I stayed awake for the drive home

 

When the next Time Attack stage now..?  Will defo try and get along to one before too long!

Trax weekend at Silverstone on 8th Sept for Club Pro/Pro and Donongton 14th Sept for Club Classes then final at Brands on 29th Sept.

Just called the organisers. Too late for a stand, I'm afraid. Though there are vacancies in the ICE section, but you need a gigawatt sound system, at least 32 speakers, a bad boy bonnet and a flip paint job to qualify.

Fo' sho. Got a 250amp alternator installed, plus a truck battery in the boot for the split charging system. Need to mod this coupe back and the buttresses slightly to fit two 24" subs in and I should be good to go. Custom dash top with 14 speakers in it, is fitted and they're all angled to reflect from the windscreen in perfect phase. I've got some LED colour changing flood lights set in to the undertray where the NACA ducts were and also an outlet for an exhaust cam driven dry ice machine to give the full floating on smoke effect. Just working on the door builds now. Car does feel a little odd on the road now. Sort of feels a bit turdo like when cornering and braking. Weird.

I may have a couple of spare screens and a DVD player at home for that all important display of porn movies which seems to be popular at shows.

That would be awesome. I was wondering whether I could fit something in place of the bonnet vents and they'd be perfect. Press of a button and two screens could motor up in front of the windscreen. Then I can probably hack a PS3 or Xbox 360 and fit it into the defunct roof vent and it would all look OEM. It's either that or I fit a high def projector in there so that I can project a lifesize GT5 or Forza 4 onto a wall in front of the car and then cannibalise a Logitech steering wheel and pedals to work from the proper steering wheel and pedals. Think I might be running out of time for that though. Think I might have to investigate a lambo door conversion as the current hinges seem to be sagging a bit from the weight of the door builds and the 7 speakers they each include. Reckon it must be possible to fit some form of motor to lift them. Then I can fit a Clifford alarm and run everything from the keyfob remote.

Yeah, the tyre fitter was cussing and cursing but they went on in the end. He did have to put a couple of cuts in the bead and sidewall so that they went on but, luckily, he had some black gaffer tape to patch them up with and you really can't see the fix unless you know what you're looking for. He reckoned the tyres would be fine as Nankang's are very tough but that I probably shouldn't ride the kerbs too much at Silverstone. Fair play to them though, they managed to not mark the chrome finish on the wheels. Looks sick. I did think about air suspension but to be honest, I thought it might fcuk the handling a bit so I cut a couple of coils off the Nitron springs and it's pretty well slammed now. Gonna get some titanium strips on the diffuser so that they really spark well when I drive. I think If I do the PS3/Xbox thing, I might need to fit some air jacks to the car to lift it up off the ground, so that the steering is as responsive as possible for the mountain tracks in GT5. Maybe I'll just fit one jack at the front in the middle of the car then rig the rumble packs in the controller up to the subs and that might rock the car side to side to match the on-screen action.

Not you as well!I had to to pull the plug on my track slot. Not going to pick the car up until next Wednesday.

this was after liam and co had slaved about for many hours,so then to find out something else pretty major was awry was the beginings of mucho pissedoffness for me to say the least.Both george and myself agreed to call it a day and decided to strip the car and get all the good bits from it and put them onto my standard vxt.

 This season has been trying for all involved to say the least and taken up many many hours that we wont get back,not to mention the money,that can be earned again but you will never replace the time spent.

 

i sent a text to liam to tell him to leave it alone and call it a day,only to get one back late in the day saying he was on it and had stripped it back down and removed all parts from the other engine we have and was going to build it up today.

 rang me this afternoon and we have oil pressure and it lives,maybe a little noisy,but it lives!!
