I have to say, it's a proper piece of engineering. Decent thickness of aluminium, so it's sure as hell not going to bend/buckle etc. Like the cut out for the engine block, it's curved like the engine. (Pic 3) Definitely worth it for piece of mind knowing it helps if the belt shreds.

Wow that looks great JG! What do you have access to to be able to manufacture the bespoke metal bits you have been James?

I asked the garage while it was in having the manifold removed to see what could be fabricated or whether it was easier to move the lines. That's a very neat install. chinky chinky

What do you have access to to be able to manufacture the bespoke metal bits you have been James?


A hacksaw and a file. :D

And a lot of patience. :)

Alight, i have a few more toys, the air hacksaw is great :) but on the whole i just have a good ruler, a sharp pencil and seem to be able to make things that are in my mind.

So you do it all in your garage! Fair play, I always assumed you must have access to a machine shop or something!Where do you get your materials from?

nice job JG, anyone know what the chance of the belt letting go is? would it be cut the lines? that's there oem routing isn't it, can't imagine vx allowing that if a belt could cause it to cut the fuel line

Nick, don't know about other people but the SC Lotus that went up in flames in a 24hour race is what always plays on my mind. on mob, but search youtube you'll find it. JG, seriously if you'd consider doing a run you'd def have buyers.

The fuel lines go now where near the chargers on the cars which GM supercharge as std.

the most fun today was the use of the propane blow torch (for bending aluminium) quite a few things that weren't meant to catch fire, did :D thumbsup.

No fuel pipes near SC belts.

It's more to do with the location/orientation of our engine etc

I think the 2.0 sc LSJ engine only has one fuel pipe too, the fuel pressure is regulated at the fuel tank like the z22yh

I could probably cut 50-70g of of it by adding lightness (holes :lol:) at various places.
