Someone mentioned in my other thread about doing a thread like this so you can see what a money pit...i mean what a great car it is!! I'm not going to be modding this car (famous last words!!) There were a couple of things i knew needed doing when i bought it and these are: Getting the wheels refurbished. This will be done over the winter once the weather gets crappy again. At the same time or shortly after i'm going to change the tyres. The rears are reasonably worn anyway but its lacking some good grip in 3rd and below. Booting it on the grippy tarmac thats dotted around you can feel what second could be like all the time  The other thing was the previous owner broke one of the wiper arms. It does look good with a single wiper but going to put it back to how it should be. Just need to find the part number and visit the local ford garage. Feels alien using one of those, bring back vauxhall haha. Other things i have found are: Passenger door had dropped slightly so it was harder to close as it raised up to the correct level when it hit the door latch. 30 mins this morning though and its back to perfect, Hardest part was working out how to remove the door card  Theres 2 leather pads recessed into the top of the dash. The leather is coming unstuck so need to pop them out (held in by the christmas tree things) and re glue then refit them. Simple job but im feeling lazy at the minute  The passenger seat wont adjust forward and back after my mate got in and moved it right to the rear. Guessing its just jammed a little bit and needs removing to unstick. The seat is bolted from underneath so wont be hard to do but again in the bracket of lazyness above. Maybe once the wheels are away getting done. One of the exhaust tips is further back than the other. On investigating, i just need to loosen off a clamp and where it meets one of the turbos, adjust it, then tighten it back down again. Easy job again as the whole clam hinges at the back so access is good. Going to get a new gasket for the clamp bit first though so i dont have to do the job twice and is a standard gasket so should only be a few quid. Again, roll on the winter. If anyone can reccomend a wheel refurb place in yorkshire post them up. Cheers Mark

the 3r and m400 alloys are not the best.many have cracked and some caused accidents.i xrayed mine and got a real shock...apart from being cracked on 3 of them the actual alloy was like looing at a bar of chocolate aero, very weak.quite a few threads about it on the forum

Good idea for a thread. thumbsup Guessing you know that the little bolts that make up the split rim effect are plastic, so if the wheels get dipped they'll dissolve. I've had mine refurbed on the outer rim but I want to source some replacement plastic bolts things before doing the inner part and the recessed centre. Let me know if you find some.
