Got up from exeter yesterday and started work on fitting the new manifolds at 6pm.
They turned up yesterday morning

It then got dark so just cracked on. Stopped at 3.30am with just filling the coolant and oil and refitting the undertray to do.
Got up at 7am this morning and filled oil and coolant. Turned it over a little without the pump fuse in then went for the start. Started straight away and all looked good.
Then only had time to fit the diffuser and not the center tray so went for the MOT.
Now back at home finishing the tray and changed the fan belt and fine tuning the level of the exhaust tips.
Stopped for a cuppa at the min though

Probably more than that. They spread the whole length of the car. I bought 100 and that was no were near enough, could of done with double or more. Went for a drive and my god its great, 3 weeks of not driving it! Funny looks at first though as the exhaust wrap was creating an awful lot of smoke until it had settled in

I wonder, with all this evidence of a 'virtual rebuild' the way it should've been done in the first place, would it have increased the value accordingly? Would usually write off the hours you've spent on it but surely the parts costs could be recouped do you think? Though of course after doing all of this I can't imagine there would be any rush to sell

It probably would just make it more attractive to sell quicker. Nope no interesting in selling, I have no idea what I would change it for :/ there's plenty I would like to own but none that I consider keepers. It would depend how much the new M600's drop in value though :D

Awesome work! Why so many bolts on the undertray? Don't even think there is that many in an ENTIRE VX!

Apparently they help with structural rigidity as well so must be all to help with stiffening. Once I get some more hex head self tappers I'll get the old ones I had to re-use replaced and drill out the few I had to cut off. Hex heads are so much better than posi drive ones! Made of bloody cheese

I have no idea how much the were as an optional extra. They just slip off if needed, nice on the longer journeys though

Long long day.
Set of to the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power at 5.30am this morning. Uneventfull trip other than doing 70 next to a lorry and see my exit coming up. Put in 4 and squeeze the loud pedal to get past and the back stepped on on the wet motorway. R1R's are OK in the wet but not excellent.

So, got there for 7.40 and it said on the ticket be there before 8am as you may not get to club stands after 8. Go to gate 3 and they say its water logged and to go to gate 1. Head there and was stopped and told all club cars were to get in via gate 8. Went there and turned out to be an uncut field that we were being marshalled to park in miles away. My car is a few inches off the floor and they wanted me to trim their 2 foot field, I don't think so!

So spun around and went back to the single lane entrance, skirted under a wire fence and stopped a lane of traffic so I could get out. Headed back round to gate 1 and who on the gate, only a girl I served in Afghan with in 2007 and havnt seen since being there! So head in to be parked up to one side in the normal carpark and was told they were going to try and get us all to the club stands so waited 10 mins and they said there was no chance as the track had gone live. Annoyed at point as i could of just taken my other car and saved money.
I went to the clubs and almost all were empty apart from the mx5 stand and the noble one with 4 nobles on. Ended up ignoring the marshals and taking a back route across a slide field and to the stand, another noble took the same route later but no other cars made to their stands!
Now you can't blame them for the weather but they had no plans for a rainey day and it was chaos because of that.

Also a carrera GT stacked it into the haybails :/

Well washed all the mud off it today and went down to the kit car show in Newark. Kit cars got in for free just don't tell the people on the gate it isn't one ;) After washing it though it wouldn't start. Turns out the big cable to the starter is a little iffy and I need to wiggle it before pressing the start button. Need to sort that this afternoon now I'm back

you certainly deserve it!

I am always in debt to the very good salesman at bristol tvr and lotus dealership... basically he told me to got for a lotus rather than a tvr, running though likely costs and bills over the next few years; one of the reasons i went for the vx in the end.

although, there is a big box to tick for owning a tvr or a noble at some point.

So, Replaced both door seals £35 and bought some ebc red stuff pads for when the ones that are on disappear at the national. Also got a paint touch up kit so if the weather dries I'll attempt some touch ups and show before and after on here. Also 2 of my dust caps have gone walkies. Can't wait to catch the little scrote that has them on his push bike. Apparently i m not aloud to punch him in the face and confiscate his bike as compensation :( what can I do when I see him? As it'll be one of the ones hanging around on the street
