Which manifold? If ones gone the other is likely. I think they have been welded before but it how long it lasts and if anything breaks off from the weld inside and it'll go straight into the turbo so up to you!

I get it serviced by a friend of mine who runs a garage about 1 mile from my house (he has a VX220 Tubby) I think I'm gonna be looking at both manifolds new then... Ouch that's gonna be £900+ fitting!!

I think I got it for about £6k under its value & having the work done by a friend is saving me loads so yeah I think if I did the work and sold it straight away I'd still make £2-£3 k. Like all cars like this I could of paid £30k and still have to do half this work!!

So whats been going on on this front? Not much other than driving it when its dry. Got my shell vouchers through, seems I'd managed to gather some 900 points in 3 months :/ whoops. Need to get a new front towing eye but not phoned noble for one yet, I can get a carbon one for £100 so hoping a new standard one is about £40 at the most. Was from when the starter went and I bumped it on a straight bar. The eye is OK for pulling but when braking its like butter :/ Also need a new cable between the starter and battery. We have the cable, ends and hydraulic clamps able to make the heavy duty starter cables at my work. Just need to get round to taking the old one off so i can measure up the size i need.

Took the cable off from the starter to the battery. Jesus tittyfuck was it a pain, held on with self tapping P clips every few inches. Should of taken the under trays off from the beginning. Hopefully will make a new one up this week at work :)

I've been following this thread with interest. Seems the car has had it's issues sorted and is now basically reliable, or is it going to be one of those cars that will always have a long list of running issues?

Refitted a new starter cable this week. Sadly at work instead of the 50mm2 CSA multi strand that I took off we only had 70mm2 CSA 9 strand. Means the new one was a little thicker but a lot less flexible. So a little bit of a pain to refit. Especially as I had to whip off the starter motor to sort out a little cross threaded stud. All back on and working though.
Then spent the evening watching the Sheffield Steelers, we should of won though. Their keeper was like a brick wall!

Old connector and new one on the new cable
