On this site you can buy the wheels. Rather expensive but they may source the false bolts cheap and sell them seperatly

I'd want to be very sure it's as heavy duty as they say. We used one that looked almost identical at Le Mans a few years back and it spent most of it's time trying to take off in the wind, even with guy ropes.

Had a busy morning. Ordered 2 new air filter as even though they are 'lifetime' K&N filters as standard they're 7 years old and looking very dirty. As they are only £32 new i just got 2 new ones. Also ordered 2 new rear tyres in 265/35 R18 at £362 for Toyo R1Rs Then went outside to sort some stuff and as soon as i'd layed on the floor it pissed it down. Undid the passenger seat to sort why it wasnt going backwards ad forwards. Bolted with 4 bolts from under the car so a little easier than the vx. Just undid the 4 bolts, moved the 2 sliders independantly then bolted the seat back down. All is now good :) Also had a rattle when setting off from behind me, thought it may be the driveshaft as there is a centre bearing on the drivers side. Noticed though that the front turbos boost pipe had slipped a little and if i gave it a shake it would knock on a bit of the engine. Slid it back up again so when its dry i'll see if its cured it. Now im sat inside writing this though the sun has come back out. Bet if i go back outside to look at something else a monsoon will turn up

Just remembered. I also ordered 2 new rear hub nuts from Porsche. The standard ones have been known to loosen off occasionally and a sensible thing to do is change them to better ones, i think from a boxter?! There only about £4+vat each so i thought i may aswell. Unsure wether to drive to sheffield, where the porsche garage is, in the noble or the shed yet haha

As well as the costs I'd like to hear about the driving experience as well, how it compares to the vx for the benefit of us dreamers :)

Theres almost no noticable lag. The turbos only boost to a joint pressure of 0.7 bar pretty low pressure. The vx was alot easier to 'give it the beans' so to say. But again its probably only now like you would have to be with a stage 4+ car. The steering feels sharper than the vx was. It has power steering and its unbelievably sharp. A Gnats cock turn on the wheel and your round a 90 degree bend! It heaters are roasty toasty with half a mile of driving for those that want to know. It feels like a much bigger car to drive even though its only a tiny bit wider, it is a good load longer though. Visibility, especially to the nearside rear quarter is shocking! It has a much less hand built feel to it, hitting small potholes in it there is none of the crashy bangs that the vx used to give, it just seems to absorb them like a bigger car. Saying that though it is still very stiff. You sit in it and the car doesnt move haha. No ABS or airbag but hasnt felt like locking up ever. Very stable at high speeds (no flapping bonnet haha) and sits comfortably at naughty speeds. Speed bumps are now a worry though and have already scraped a couple with the front spliter but its just a case of learning what it will go over and taking an angle if you think its looking risky :)

Luke did a video tootling through a tunnel. Not sure how well the sound came out though. Other things i forgot to say. Sit at 4+k rpm and it sounds like high revving ferrari etc sounds. Glorious!! It revs extreamly fast too. I'm having to keep an eye on the rev counter when booting as its hits the 7.5k rev limiter in no time

Hi Matt

We've had record dry weather so I hope you're clocking up the miles in that lovely VX.

The leg is mainly made of metal, which is more than can be said of the VX. They're both proving reliable though.

Time to get back on topic...

Someone told me the Noble is like a VX on steroids. Pretty much sums it up.

The M12 can be modded. There are some 600+bhp beasts out there. But I can only compare the standard 3R with my stage 4 VXT.

They're very different driving experiences. The Noble is set up for short shifting that delivers very fast acceleration, so fast that its difficult to keep an eye on the boost gauge to see what the turbos are up to. The (stage 4) VX feels lighter and more nippy, and you can keep on giving it right foot through the gears. The Noble is more sensitive to driving conditions - fat rear tyres don't mix well with anything other than dry roads. And it really needs the right tyre choice - mine had some very naff tyres when I got it, and changing them made a huge difference. The driving position in the Noble takes some getting used to - nothing like as natural as the VX. Ride quality is much better than the VX.

It feels like a very very hand made car. I'd say the VX has a more production line feel.

The VX (with Milltek) sounds great but the noise of the Noble is deeper and richer. The turbos add their own soundtrack of whooshes and whistles, which completely out-do the VX.

As you say, the steering is in a different league - race car sharpness.

And the Noble gets attention everywhere it goes. Other drivers take photos and wave, people stop and point when it goes past. You get checked out more often. Pull into a petrol station (as you often do in a Nob) and its quite common to get into conversation with other drivers and passengers who want to ask about it. The VX feels anonymous by comparison - not a bad thing imo.

Expect more issues with the Nob than the VX. If you need any non-routine work done that you can't do yourself, prepare to dig deep. Things like cracked manifolds, which I've just had done. Can be eye-watering.

But its a fabulous car, I love it and I can't think of anything that comes close at the price.
