So the bolts are just there for show and the wheels are not split rims... ...why?

Not sure why they settled on that design but the are loads of alloys available the do that. Many have removed the bolts when acid dipping then not put anything in the holes. I thought id put the extra effort in though

Hi mark, could you tell me the way you decided that this particular noble was the one for you ? was it the history and condition of the car or was it that the price was right? did you get a noble owner to check the car over for a second opinion? I'm just interested really because I am constantly thinking about these cars and find myself reading daily about them ,i think it will be my next car but before committing all my savings to one ,I am doing my homework . Thanks mark

It was almost the cheapest 3R for sale as most are from garages. Not all have full servoce historys too as they service them on miles not every year like they should. Mine also was the colour i wanted and had all the optional extras from the factory. Just got lucky i think haha

Nope, only spent 3 nights in that house in the last 10 months. Just accepted an offer on the house though. Only on the market for a week and more than we paid for it :) Northern house shopping has commenced!

Came back this weekend to find the noble wouldnt unlock.
Lights flashed but no noise. Noise when you press it again though to lock.

Decided ot couldnt be a door fault as neither worked.
So, dove into the passenger footwell and removed this

Opened it up and it looked like this
Posted Image

On the lower right of the circuit board it was all corroded (id cleaned it off a little by this pic). Doing a continuity check it seemed that there was a break in the thin strip near the copper coloured corner.
Posted Image

So, bodge head on. I soldered a small wire on the bipass the break.

Results is, it works again. Its just a temporary measure as ill get a replacement. Cheapest i can find is here so far

Anyone know where i can get one cheaper?

First proper drive for a while and i cant really compare worn out bridgies to new R1Rs but im really liking having grip. Pushed it a bit and not a hint of spin. Not done any full bore emergency starts and dont plan on any but im working towards full throttle first and seconds once moving

Just set off in it to find i have a flat tyre. Pumped it up and got the soapy water out. Looks like the bead is leaking, so that wheels coming back with me to plymouth to get the tyre fitters to do their job properly. Just pumped it up for now and stolen my mums pump to leave in for now. Also think my sat navs done a runner under the passenger seat!

Once this cold weather disappears I'm going to sort out a run round the Yorkshire Dales. If you ask nicely we might even allow you to bring your silly plastic car along. :P

Pcb repairs are perfectly acceptable to ipc standards provided they are done right. I could get that done quickly for you if you like.

Not even with the key in the lock? And no problem send it to me. I'll clean the surface up and cover the tracks in proper solder resist.
