thumbsup - Wasn't sure whether it was 3.3" or 3.4" so hedged my bets. Not sure but Anarchy's Stage 1 SC thread might have details of the Stage 1 pulley size.

The question is, can I buy any 100A alternator or has it to be an OEM part?


Somebody on the dutch forum bought a new aftermarket 100A, which turned out to be as big as the 120, and had to be butchered to fit next to a 2.4 manifold.
So far only the original 100A from the speedster requires minor modifications to fit 2.4 and SC manifold.

I would asume the 100A was built into a gazillion other cars by opel back then, but so far no clue in which.

Forget about the TB adapter cable, I'm not sure it switches the wires to to right set up. And it's not much work to just extend the cable and save the 50 bucks.

I can't find the size of the Stage 1 pulley anywhere. And I've gone through about 1,000 pages of S/C conversions. Maybe this thinggy from ZZPerformance is interesting. It's a M62 booster controller that lets you dial in max boost levels. The company it's coming from even has a controller that lets you dial in a boost profile. I mean run a standard size pulley and set a boost limit through the boost controller. Not a very efficient way probably, but at least when you go to Stage 2 you don't need to change the pulley.

Can you measure it?
The stock is 3.35", and your stage 1 should be slightly bigger.

Presume these are measured peak to peak? That comes out as 90mm / 3.54"

The only proof you need it the printed word 100 on it. The 120 that was released had the same part number, but had a big 120 printed on it. So you're good to go thumbsup

You only need to mod it a bit. Have made a pic somehere. Edit: http://www.vx220.org...90_36_14756.jpg Simply modify the black cover (has internal surpressor) and shorten the M8 stud.

Regarding the modification, I will omit the black cover completely. I saw already a few modifications without this cover. Or is this suppressor really necessary (we talk about this marked thing in the photo, right?)?

Yes, it's in there. You can probably do without or fab an alternative surpressor, but why not use what you have? It's an easy job and it looks half decent with the half cover. :happy:
