Scuffers is too polite to say this but driver talent. Look at what Jimmy found for me... 6 seconds on the 300 in the dry. 6 Seconds in a lap lastong what 2m 10sec. That is an age. Imagine how much more could be found on all circuits with proper driver training.

LOL!

Actually, that's not what I was getting at! (although more than happy to do some coaching if you want?)

:yeahthat: and from fcuked front tyres to brand spankers. Theres no doubt the biggest difference was watching Jimmys video from last year though.

Scuffers if your not saying its the driver and its not the power of the car, Mike ran the same tyres as Jamie, Mike has very good aero (granted not as much as jamie), then what are you getting at? Shocks? Balls? (Mike has big ones  ) Different setup?

massive number of assumptions in that one sentence alone....

having the same tyres and making the best use of them just for starters (and I am not saying Jamie's car is any where near perfect yet)

I have not driven Mikes car, so I can only summize what it's issues are, however, watching his video's and looking at the general attitude of the car indicates some of the issues.

one of our biggest issues with tyres is not knowing what their best operating temps are and lack of time to test it.

 Im still non the wiser. The general attitude of the car, oh well. I think Mike would be better in pro and take Ronnie with you. Makes it a little easier for team Darron ;)

The biggest issue with handling was the self adjusting shocks!

Mikes done really well this season and only won the championship yesterday yet this thread seems to be turning into picking faults already. I reckon this thread should be left as it is and start another one "preping for 2013 TA how can i improve my car/chances"

yea, the shocks issue was a bit strange, its unfortunate that we didnt think to put a mark on the shocks earlier in the season and monitored it. never mind, its over now. we know that the shocks are an area in which mike needs to look at.

I think what scuffers plans to work on is improving VX220's not specifically Mike. C'mon then scuffers you've still not said what you'd change (not in any of our conversations ).

Would have been interesting to do some testing to check all variables (tyres, shock setting, geo aero ect) but track time for that would crazy ££££ It would have been interesting to try changing the rear wing angle in the dry/wet and see what difference it made and trade off between handling/ top speeds depending on which circuit was used in both wet and dry more ££££ besides the point all finished for this year and a great one it was

The one's of you being drunk George or Mike out on track?

Seriously, I have 600 photos to go through. Had a job interview on Monday morning (which is why I was absent from the garage sun morn) which meant I'm already behind with this weeks work. Paris motorshow this week which means tomorrow and thursday are 18 hour days. Friday's a half day because of it though. So in reality, expect the edited and tagged photo selection to hit facebook (and here) early over the weekend.

What you mean is large amounts of torque lower down the rev range.

Scuffers is trying to politely say *cough* turbo power

far from it....

I have compared Mikes Video with the data I have from Jamies car, and the last thing Mike needs is more power.

in straight lines, there is very little in it acceleration wise, the *HUGE* difference is corner speeds.

to put some numbers to this, turn 1, Mikes braking before the 300 board, and turns in at ~80Mph
I was braking after the 100 board, and turning in at ~95Mph (we both clock about the same speed over start/finish line)

by the time we get to the braking zone for turn 2, Mikes at ~107 vs. me at ~121

do this all round the lap, there's your 10 seconds.
