Mike is Club Pro 2WD.

But then the series this year seems to have different categories to last year:

Pro Class
Pro 2WD
Club Pro
Club 4WD
Club FWD
Club RWD
Club NA

So has the Club Pro been split in two?

Last year it was called Pro 2wd. This year it's called Club Pro 2wd. Basically Mike is in the same class as the miltek car. Don't worry though, he'll destroy it.

I have high hopes for him, plus if Darron can do well in the Club RWD class that adds further credibility to the Lotus and VX brands. Especially if you really stir up the Pro Class as well Jamie.

Throughout 2012 Milltek celebrated huge success with their Nissan GT-R (driven by Richard Marshall) which dominated the Club 4WD class before taking the Championship win at the Snetterton finale. As well as sponsoring the championship for a second consecutive year, Milltek will also compete this time within the Pro 2WD class – a fierce category which puts man and machine at the absolute limit. ‘It’s fantastic news for Time Attack to have such a key brand on board for another year’ explains director Glen Horncastle. ‘As well as sponsoring and competing, Milltek attend each round with a trade stand showcasing products and display vehicles, something we look forward to seeing once again.’

The Milltek Mk6 GTI will feature a worked-over 2.0 TFSI VW engine with power projected to be in the region 400+bhp along with a dry weight of less than 1100kg. The exhaust will be a bespoke creation from Milltek’s competition division, providing invaluable R&D for future VW Group applications.

Mike will do just fine. The chassis work being done on his car alone is going to make it a completely different animal compared to last year. It should also be lots easier to drive which will lead to him getting loads of confidence and setting much faster times. I can't see anyone out of the current entrants that we know about troubling him too much really. And don't worry, if we can get the same reliabilty that we've always had, (bearing in mind we can only drop one round this year) then our aim is certainly to trouble the top names in the Pro class.

Sounds good to me Jamie, when you say 'easier to drive', are we talking more predictable? I know Scuffers has already talked about the improvements in braking/cornering speed.

Yep, more predictable, no snappiness and won't feel like it's going to kill you if you cock up. Just allows you to relax more and concentrate on getting other stuff spot on. Might make it a bit more boring for those of us watching Mike though, because last year I really enjoyed seeing him come round the corners backwards on many an occasion!!!!!

Thanks, you had to bring that up.

The VX will be so more predictable and stable in the corners and the improvements in the chassis and braking will reduce the braking distances even further.

Scuffers has already alluded to the fact that he will BBQ my soft pink bits if I am not considerably faster through the corners.
