Managed to grab an hour on the car over the weekend and started plumbing the NOS in.

are you sure that's wise? I'd be calculating what the parasitic loss of the charger is first as although the dyno only reads 348 bhp the power that the internals sees will also include the power needed to drive the charger so quite a bit higher.

Liners are rated at 400bhp by GM I have read, whats the drain on the engine running the s/c 25bhp? 375bhp tops?

The findings, from the original Bothwell "test to destruction" series of test's (which the GM manual reference) were conducted using nos and/or turbo but not s/c

NOS is a bearing and rod killer. Be prepared to rebuild bottom ends and replace rods fairly frequently if you go for anything other than a tickle sized shot.

just done a rough calc off the TVS1320 map on line and I get 20.6 kW (27.5 bhp) to compress the air so i'd say at least 30bhp with mechanical losses

If the exhaust is restricting power then the NOS possibly won't make any difference to the max bhp, just add some mid - high range grunt

How much boost is he running to get 355 BHP? I'd be interested to compare his VE to Nippers, just for background knowledge. Is his swept volume still 2200 cc ? And also what the SCR please?

NOS adds low down grunt. Its gas from a nozzle so diffuses out at a set rate. At low revs you'd therefore get more in each cylinder as more gas has come out of the nozzle. Same flow rate for high revs so less into each cylinder.

Explain to me why knowing a fundamental thing like SCR (particularily on a boosted engine) is bullshit please?

As usual, you are quick to judge (negatively and condescendingly as usual) when someone asks a perfectly sensible thing. People like you spoil this site which your constant digging.

Asking what the piston SCR is seemed a perfectly reasonable question. I am guessing Mike has the Wiseco and Eagle rods, like this maybe 87mm overbore though , http://www.ebay.com/...t-/270771648161

Nev, what maths will you be using for the VE? I have a calculation for VE while running but needs sensor values to calculate properly

What is VE? Volumetric Efficiency? What does that mean? Do I want some/need some and how much of it?
