Nowt wrong with tactics.  When I was canoeing a lot we got to counting points and calculated a second at race X and a win at race Y was acceptable and would maintain our class.  Strangely thats exactly the placing we got ;)

Id be all up for tactics. Last season you were only doing a few laps with the harrop on and not going out unless Ronnie put a better time in. Surely that was tactics as well as you could of stayed out and set a better time?

At the same time it does make the rest of the season pretty boring for you. You could just except that your maybe not going to win any trophies but have your own battle with Charlie. If at the end of the season you have more points than him in which ever class you are both in then thats some achievement to beat a team with that money no matter what you win.

paradoxically, staying out realistically means the car will go slower (as it heats up).

ideally, you should only do one lap at a time.

At top level yeah I agree but at our level we're often improving each lap!!  Cliffie and I have both had numerous occasions where we posted our fastest laps on our final lap....  It's often when you have most track space too.

that's because he's still learning the cct & car...  (I was doing the same)

we have to recognise the downside to doing this though...

Yeah defo thumbsup, especially when the engine is so highly tuned!  Steve Guglielmi used to do an out lap, hot lap, in lap and generally won....  Impressive if you have the minerals!!

Shame we are not at Anglesey this year as I have the minerals there and that is what we did last year. Out lap, flying lap, in lap then sit it out in the pit lane with the timing screen. We sort of did this at Croft in Qually and only went back out to jump Charlie on the time sheets.

might as well put some end bits on.

also screw some hardwood underneath to stop the splitter rubbing the floor make the splitter last longer and also keep the splitter a minimum distance off the ground.

Blimey , that has to be the all time biggest splitter I've ever seen on VX. I suspect it will be dramatically useful.
