Was that your team mate at the Brentwood karting meet? He was rather handy behind the wheel!Pete Baldwin won the Mini Miglia championship last year having retired five years ago as the champion. He is 71 you know. Simon is a few years away from his bus pass.

That was actually somebody I work with, his name is Tony Tobias, he is older than Pete Baldwin but still works, still karts regularly and had the second quickest lap that night.

Snetterton is this Sunday 9th June and the weather is looking great. Chris and Dean are spannering as usual byt Wreelybro can't make it as he is washing his hair or getting a pedicure or something like that and can't make it (actually he is doing the Mark Higgins Rally School in mid Wales).
This means we are a pair of hands short. Does any VXer out there fancy getting stuck in; I have a spare ticket?

What a truly frustrating time to be honest.
Got to Snett on Saturday night and the car wouldn't start due to the battery going flat so we pushed it off the trailor damaging the passenger sill in the process when the trailer ramp came adrift from its fixings.
Got the car on charge and after a while tried firing it up but al we got was turning over followed by a bang that would scare a crow scarer. After a while we did get it fired up but only running on three cylinders so after mucho friggin about with plugs in and plugs out we got it up to four and decided to call it a night at midnight.
This morning dawned and because of the well documented MAP sensor issue on the Harrop cars, it was decided to remote mount the sensor so charger off (for the 1st time).
Late out and problem still there and a dreadful warm up, last overall.
Practice not much better when we blew MAP sensor out completely.
Charger off for the second time and we mounted the sensor back on the manifold for qually, still no better and third in class.
Charger off again before the final and remote mounted again with a boost damper in place and the final was the worst session. Managed briefly to lead class but lost out at the end and scraped a second behind an Astra.
Basically the MAP sensor triggers an engine fault, the throttle pedal trips out and I have to switch the ignition off, come off the throttle, switch back on and fire it up again before getting back on the throttle and this was happening two or three times a lap in the final.
Oh, I forgot to mention the ride height having to come up 13mm to get through scrutineering which ruined the geo.
