Do you have a IAT gauge in the cabin ?

CS supercharger mapping has no measurement for IAT, hence why it will always be a bodge

No we don't.

The long tern solution would be the Dutch software and a TMAP sensor but that is out of the question at this time due to cost issues; we have what we have and we need to make the best of it.

You could think of "borrowing" an OBD converted ecu for the Time Attack rounds, (Weapon X^2)but found that the OBD ecu's are not easy to swap between cars as the Immo code relearn function is disabled. (probably for copy-security...)

And we would need a safe base map from peter

I would say don´t f*ck with what´s currently working, and toss the hat around end of the season to get the mikester on some proper software.

How ever if your planning on borrowing deanos We could get a setup for Clifford car and when he has finished with it I can give deano my base map The more time we have with the Dutch stuff the more successful it will be and you can't miss steps out when mapping

Borrowing is not an option; if Dean flashes my ECU then post race season I give Dean my ECU, Transponder and ring.

I wonder how much JT's old runway BTCC proving ground at Turweston airfield costs to hire by the half day/full day?

JT, BTCC and proving in the same sentence...?

We used to use Turweston for pitstop practice - can't be that much.

Looking back at another thread on here where somebody hired it, it cost £35.25 per hour for hooning rights. That was back in 2008 though.

Not sure what they charge these days but how about Brunters? I'd chip in to do a few laps if I'm around and Nick might find it useful for some more ECU learning. thumbsup

Blimey, it has been a while since my last update...

First thing post Oulton Park was to find the missing get up and go in both the car and driver having posted 4th in qually and final which was woeful by our standards. Following on from the Snetterton throttle/MPA sensor issues, we shipped the ECU over to CMS and had it flashed with the lower power and boost map and dropped the pulley size down to suit. This should have given us 333BHP but the car felt so slow and I doubt very much we were seeing much more than a stage 2. Maybe it was me, maybe it was the circuit, maybe a combination of both but the car was slow.

Chris sent me a long list after Oulton of things to do so I did what I always do, nowt on the list till he came down but I did MOT the wee beastie to make life a lot easier getting it around for mapping etc.

A good but hard three days over the August Bank Holiday saw Chris and I pretty much strip and rebuild the whole car, clean things up and remount and reprofile the front splitter which now mounts to the chassis and not the front clam. This allows either to be removed and fitted without the other saving a whole heap of time. We also did all the fluids to be on the safe side.

Lee then came over and wired in the TMAP and fired the car up and all was running as expected.

Up to CMS Monday just gone for mapping on the standard ECU and they managed give us our Croft power levels back. Compared to the lumpy pig I drove up there the drive back was awesome and the VX felt like a different car.

I was so enthusiastic that I even drove the VX to work on Tuesday.

All that is left to do before the Silverstone round on Sunday is refit the rear wing and undertrays and we are good to go.

Taking dropped rounds into consideration we are 10 points ahead of Bo and 30 points behind Charlie so in second place in the Championship with two rounds to go. Funnily enough, this is the same position we were in last year, 30 points behind Ronnie.

If we can out qualify Charlie and the S2000 at Silverstone and he manages second in both, we will go to the last round at Brands just 10 points behind him. If Bo can beat him as well on Sunday it would help and we could be going to the Kent venue in the lead.

Either way, we need to win this weekend...

Luckily I like Silverstone and know the National circuit well. I just hope we can hang on to all our pit stuff and sanity during Trax.

I hate trax with a furious passion, so I know what you mean.

Shame about the split, it'll be weird to do a round with you guys not in attendance.

(The mazda is fixed btw - it was an effing map sensor and nothing more.)
