Looking good ... I would like to see it "staying" very clean and simple actually. Would be amazing if you could achieve that - even with the mandatory TA stickers...

So, taxed and insured and ready to go off this morning for a quick test drive and get a quote on some paint work. Switch on. key in, click. Bloody battery was flat.

The cut off switch has a drain on it, just need to disconnect the battery proper when not in use.

The drain is supposed to go on the engine side not the battery side!

Have a nose when you come over. I have an electronic cut out switch and the control unit uses juice. Says it drains in the instructions and to disconnect the battery when not in use.

So Joe came over yesterday with his Dremmel.

Massive thanks for giving his day up to help a teamie, I could not have done it without you Dude.

So a few holes cut, just need to mes up now.

Had a few setbacks this weekend. Firstly the battery cutout decided it was not going to work so was unable to start the car Saturday. Spent the first two hours of sunday bypassing the bloody thing. Second problem I have is that the coolant seems reluctant to go into the engine and I am running up hot very quickly. I hope it is as simple as an iffy thermostat. That is my job for today.

I hope it is just an iffy 'stat . Mine decided to pack up on the sighting laps at Spa, I can reliably confirm 127'C is the maximum you will ever see (/pats strong cast iron block) . I gutted the stat housing so its now 100% full flow, but could not solve air lock problems on the day till after I'd packed up and it burped out about 2L of air when parked up nose down on a very steep part of the paddock. Still think my water pump is fubar though.
