suction of the oil and the vacuum void formed would I think stop it getting out of the dipstick , until you take the oil cap off maybe

Cliffie, I know its highly unlikely that you've made this mistake but are the waterway holes in the head in a different location, thus requiring a different gasket with aligned water holes?

All sorted now and run up fine.

In fact run properly today. First drive in over 6 months; only to the petrol Station and back, the long way, but 10 miles under his wheels.

Tomorrow he is off for a Geo so another 60 miles there and back. A well needed geo I must add as it feels like all four wheels are pointing in different directions.

Anyway. Rear clam now finished after Joe's heroic efforts yesterday all fitted back on and I think it looks OK. Maybe a bit extreme but I will get used to it.

BTW, I am not looking for opinions unless they are positive of course.

Bugger, I heard they were best as close to the ground as possible.

Trust you Lee.

It was there to check width.

Cheers. It is getting there now.

Had a comment in the petrol station this evening which was nice. I guess looking at bits of it and the sorry state it has been in for so long makes you forget it can look OK.
