Per, Joe was joking when he said you were to blame. Cliffie and me have been at this for months!! Really not your fault!!!
Reason Chris has better performance with the 40mm tube is that he's spent countless testing hours on the 40mm tube refining it to what is an optimum setting for his application (extreme race car). He's in the process of putting the 46mm tube through a similar process and will hopefully surpass the 40mm tube in the future. The 46mm is very much in it's early stages for Chris (for everyone really).
Out of the box with standard valving though the 46mm tube is the more capable shock (imo).
As Jimmy says, currently I have more development into the 40mm although much of that does port over to the 46mm. On paper the 46mm has some advantages. How much of a difference those advantages make in the real world remains to be seen. I suspect that on a heavy car there will be a decent benefit but on a lightweight VX it will be much smaller.

We did grind away alot though Cliffie, Sure we had more than 5mm clearance on the clam...
Please confirm we now haven't
Looks unlikely that we have enough clearance now Joe, I have ordered a set of arch extenders however.

I´d like to hear more, why do you belive it is a less of advantage on a lighter car? I understand the benefits with a bigger valving for more exact
controling, but the bigger valving should also increase weight of the moving part.

Function over beauty i'd say.
Did the normal arches had to be cut to make room? (ie the way of no return)
Function over form indeed. Quite a bit of cutting required and no going back but look at the car already, a bit late to go back anywhere now.
