Function over beauty i'd say.
Did the normal arches had to be cut to make room? (ie the way of no return)

Function over form indeed. Quite a bit of cutting required and no going back but look at the car already, a bit late to go back anywhere now.

Don't worry about looks Cliffie, it's of no consequence when you win :)

You could get a good bodywork chap to fill those out in the future so they look quite respectable I am sure.

@Cliffie I've read that you have a P-box. Have you ever made a 100-200 km / h or the similar measurement?

Nope, no 0-100 or 1/4 mile either.

But you have a P-Box? If yes you have the files and you can check it.

I do but not done any specific testing of these parameters, any data will have been generated on track and therefore not representative.

In any track you have a straight where is a part without corners.

When you cut there between 100-170 km/h for example it is representative like a acceleration test.

No it's not representative like a accelaration test, it's better because it's made in his real location with
hot engine and so on, which you haven't when you make only a acceleration test.

That's my opinion.

I dont think any of the data thus far has got enough info for you. Im certain that we didnt hit 200kmh down the main straight (i think we just got 118mph)so we cant get that info for you, also you have to take into consideration the elevation of the track, if its going uphill its not accurate also the same applies when we are going downhill. I will have a look next time i get hold of it, probably best waiting until snetterton tbh.

Cheers Darcy, looks OK and I am pleased with it. It is a bit Fred in the Shed but will do the business.

We are going to try something out for Knockhill for pit to car comms using mobile phones but I am not too hopeful of a useful result, hopefully the pitboard will help.

Cliffe - With regard to the arches, can you not just get Chris on the go with his master vinyling skills?

Hi Bob, Arches are now sprayed in body colour (thanks Wreelybro) and will be fitted on the weekend.] Pit to car comms will be my phone with hands free kit inside helmet.

Have you considered getting proper ear moulds for the earpiece? The earpiece will stay in better and you'll hear better / clearer

The worst bit about the phone option is having an open channel which means I will hear everything that goes on in and past the pitlane unless the guy in the pits mutes his phone.

The best option around is the VerbaCom kit from Stilo but at £890 plus VAT, it is a little out of my league.

What about a bike comms kit? Proper in helmet fitting mic and earpiece. Not sure on range but at knockhill isn't big and probably the best time for talking is from the hairpin to duffus past the pits anyway. Wiring a push to talk button somewhere convenient shouldn't be hard either with a bit of time.

Not got the range needed sadly.
