Can we get back to taqlking about cars and Time Attack please? Mounts arrived today for the new cameras so Brands should get us some decent footage.

Mike, I've been trying to think why we've seen such a dramatic increase in performance from Ronnie this season.... Just thinking out loud here but hopefully from the collective forum mind we might be able to form some kind of counter strategy to nulify his new found success.... My only thoughts thus far must be the tyres. Power etc I'm not too sure as we had him under control last season with a Stage II car. You've both had similar hikes in power too but Ronnie seems stronger than ever....? Has he mentioned tuition....? He was often struggling to keep the Cossie under control on the Pirelli tyres (as were we all) but I think these sticky tyres seem to be correcting a fair amount of his handling issues for him..... I know at Anglesey on the Pirelli tyre I had terrible understeer trouble at the BookaTrack bend and realy had to adjust my entry to suit but then at the national on sticky tyres I could just chuck it in without thinking about it.... Not sure what we can do about that but would it be a psychological boost in wet sessions to know that a significant asset of his will be removed...? Also, have you looked into cams yet? An extra power boost for yourself will not go Amis (see what I did there ). Chassis wise yours is already tight but are there any areas you're not happy with we could improve....? Maybe you could bring your wing back a setting or two as if you're wheels are rubbing I'd suggest your springs are too soft to run so much downforce which could be resulting in a terrible amount of drag which will scrub some of your speed.... Any more issues of concern on your car....? Be open as then we'll have more chance of getting good suggestions.

Nice thoughts Jimmy, thanks. Ronnie has not mentioned any tuition but I know he has managed a bit of testing as he said he did a 52 round Brands Indy the other day. Cams wise, I have RR time at Courtenay this Friday but can't get the cams in in time so we will be running with the same grunt as Knockhill. Shocks are off and being revalved and we will be upping spring rates as well as looking at a slightly more aggressive geo. I have looked at changing the full exhaust system with bespoke manifold and hope that the LoTRDC money will kick in to help pay for that. Something similar to Jamie Wilson's. The biggest improvement to gain is the driver. Brake too early, coast to corners, use the gearbox as a brake, get on the power too late etc. etc guilty of them all at times.

That's bullshit to be honest Mike!! Between you and Max you're the fastest VX drivers on the forum and if you're doing any of those things it's for a reason!!! The fact that you've reckognised you are doing them is proof enough that you have the experience and ability to change. Lets not beat around the bush; Ronnie's put pressure on you BIG TIME and no suprise you're doubting yourself as Ronnie is flying but you can't let that sort of thinking come into your head. We can see Ronnie has improved and you've also pointed out simple gains within your current driving that are an easy fix. Add that to the technical changes to the car you've implemented and you're in good shape!!!!!!

No doubt Ronnie is looking past you now and thinking the points are his at Brands but you know he can be beaten there with your old setup and your car is soooo much quicker tha last time you raced there!!

How are those A048's bearing up...? Do you know which tyre Ronnie is using?

Also, Ronnie's playing mind games saying he did a 52 round the Indy (imo). On 888's in 2010 he did a 55.842 Same year Jamie Wilson won Club OVERALL with a 52.187 so come to your own conclusions......
