 I usually do that, just to make me feel better.

So far I've only spent £1500 on the car this month. :ninja:

EFA for you there Matt (it's only so I feel better!)

As the only VX specialist in the world that I haven't visited, I thought I'd go there for a sneaky service and pre-trackday checkover.

P.S. No idea what the issue with contacting them is. I rang up on Thursday last week, the phone was answered within 3 rings and I was booked in for tomorrow with a note of my oil preferences. Painless.

£300, that is more than I expected but no more than I can supply them for. Ian has an account with Pipercross so I won't be able to beat his price.

Fit a (modded) std airbox and the SC whine is gone.

Tried that and can't do it without moving the ECU and can't be arsed to disturb that.

You than better fit a proper shaped ecu and wiring loom to accomodate the airbox...

Response from Andy @ ITG:

Hi Lee,

I’ve only just started seeing images of this new Pipercross airbox and it does seem vaguely familiar to me for some reason ;)

We’ve got a whole range of airbox’s that are similar to this setup in various sizes for different BHP outputs and available space along with different options on the filter outlet size – we’ve also got four different foam options to either maximise airflow or filtering efficiency.

Box and filter setups will range from £130.00 + vat for the smallest setup right through to £210.00 + vat for the 600bhp+ setup.

Let me know if you want the drawings to work out the most suitably sized box for your setup.

Best regards

Andy Jackson

LOL, before you buy anything off ITG, ask that joker these 2 important questions:

1. Expected pressure drop over a clean filter at various flow rates (say 100 Ltr/min, 200 Ltr/min, 300 Ltr/min etc etc).
2. What particle size it will filter down to and what % thereoff.

Ask for empirical evidence rather than 'say so' over the phone.

I rang them up approx 3 years (and other companies as well) and they they were completely flummoxeed by this request. They had no info what so ever and sounded quizical why I should even want to know!!

On that basis I did not buy one of their products, as clean air is very important for your engines longevity. Instead use your OEM filter (or multiples thereof for high power requirements), as the manufacturer will be far more concerned about potential warantee claims than some after market air filter saleman who just wants your money and doesnt care about your engine.

Not trying to do any hard selling here, just an offer if anyone wanted to take it up. If it helps anyone who does want one I will reduce the group buy number to three. Pipercross Retail price is £300 inc VAT and plus postage if you are using Mail order. I have offered 10% discount and free shipping. So the price is £270 in VAT delivered. Yes it is expensive but, with the Ceramic coating the price is competitive with similar kits.

1. Best not have - wouldn't give the Cliffmeister true satisfaction when he wipes the floor with Ronnie at the next outing.

2. Inside information could be useful, just to ensure that he is sticking to the rule-books, but anything else should not really be disclosed... However if Ronnie openly announced/s it then he is fair game.
