based on the fact that i am mainly road use, a traction control system would be of interest to me. Nev if you find out prices pelase do let me know.

Thinking left field: Wouldn't the answer to Nev's traction issues be to turn the engine round so the car was rear engined? Kind regards, Paul

I the defense of the TC "haters". The issue I had was that TC control was seen as more important that driving style assesment. Nev, If you can't truely put the power down at all then this is actually a different situation. The TC would benifit your enjoyment of the car. I imagine it is pretty frustrating to have poured your heart, soul and time into what is an icredible feat of engineering :Imnotworthy: to not be able to drive it! With the amount of power you are getting I would reckon 255 rears may even still struggle though. For me (and my opinion in my previous post) TC creates lazy drivers in the general public domain where "safety systems" are seen as a necessity to avoid concentration rather than a last resort when all else has failed.

Nev, I still believe your money would be better spent on a fully mappable drive by wire engine managment, so you can smooth out the power delivery mapping throttle angle against boost as nearly 150 ft/lb's and the best part of 140 bhp in 500 rpm is always going to give problems with traction with TC or without TC. You still need to I improve mechanical grip, starting by ensuring all aspects of your suspension is working correctly, rebushing suspension joints, getting the nitrons checked, adjusting the corner weights, possibly visiting a company like Cornering Force or BAD. Both will be able to advise on suspension including anti role bars. Only then would look at TC. Steve

£1K for a race logic TC seems a silly decision when you can buy a Syvecs ECU complete with awesome traction control completely integrated for £1300.

How did klassen get traction control on the z20? Or was that a rumour? Chris does that include wiring harness? What type tb? :)

Wiring harness is needed as well, but knowing Nev he would get on and make that himself so that would cost him the price of the wires... A few other bits needed, a DBW controller ignition amp and a 3 BAR map sensor (imaine Nev already has that). Wide band llamda and CAL switch are great additions too.

I should add, mine is running the TC now. Only spent one morning on a wet Brands Hatch to get it configured but its already terrific. Just means you can leave you're foot down 100% and add oppo as/when needed and let the ECU do the rest.

So how much is all the bits needed to do a full conversion?! Seems alot more than the suggested £1300.

Really depends on how you skin that cat. If you pay for a loom to be made and then for somebody else to fit/wire everything then its considerably more than £1300, in fact have a look at my website and most of the costs are listed and frankly, at those costs, its a bit of a loss leader considering the time it takes to get working. If you do the loom yourself and fit everything then its not. The hardware parts aren't particularly expensive, its the time thats needed to get it all working, then you would want a sensible start point from a mapping perspective. With somebody with Nev's ability I think it would be a very sensible prospect and SO SO much better than the stock setup. Feel free to shoot me down but I'm yet to sit in a Turbo car on the stock ECU, regardless of who has mapped it, that I have been particularly impressed with. They all feel clunky and unresponsive.

Actually I do like SC cars, I raced SC Honda Elises for quite some years, they are great bits of kit.
