VX is currently in secure storage and I no longer have access to my garage or workshop for the next 3-4 months, no place to store any new parts. It would help to know the first date and see if suppliers can agree to work to that schedule. At this rate, I'll going to Spa in the Porsche. The good news is the electricians start work on rewiring the entire house next week, the bad news is loss adjusters have made no provisions yet to provide packing crates for storage. oh, and tyres, wish the TA organisors would sort this out asap and give out the information.

November 6th. I think it was just a few days before that I was stripping down the engine and planning for 2012 before this all happened.

It was an arson attack, fire had been deliberately started at around 4am in an outside meter cupboard by the front door. Fortunately smoke and fire contained to outside, but the damage was so severe that all incoming service had to be terminated back to roadside. Consequently the house has to meet same regulations as a new build for purposes of reconnection.

Nope, forensics came with the sniffer dog and checked for all that, it was where the paper recycle bin was kept ready to be put out. Cupboard door was found open which requires quite a lot of effort to do. There were several other incidents that coincided timewise in the village.

:yeahthat:

Holy sh1t Steve, I completely missed this as well, I hope everyone is OK and everything can be repaired quickly and painlessly and I hope this doesn't mean that you don't get to compete in TA because that would really suck.

what i need is a garage with an engine hoist, a clean workbench to assemble stuff , it will be easier to drop in a fully assembled engine+gearbox. It should be doable in a weekend. Dressing the engine can be done seperately, but due to the bulk its easier done at the same location. Spare block is currently on engine stand, question is the level of build, fully forged or mostly OEM build around a K06.

Dude that is TERRIBLE news, so sorry to hear it :( Maybe if you asked Nev really nicely he'd let you use his gaff one time, he was kind enough to let me one time. If I'm free I'd happilly come over and help out. That's shocking news fella!!! Are there none of those 'DIY' type garages near you??

I spent a couple of hours just going over the car on Monday and the head/turbo is in a pretty poor way. It will have to come off to see what the full damage to the head is due to the lack of access. Five of the lower exh studs and nuts are missing , which is annoying as this work was done by Courtenay Sport to replace them all as part of a gasket replacement.
