I saw Cliffie post a link the other day of a bloke who can do suspension refreshes so off to do some searching.

Matt Bentley is the name you're looking for. He's currently or shortly to be doing P11COV's VXT. thumbsup

Yeah, I did wonder. Granted it's not as bad as getting to Courtenay's from Bristol but it's definitely not "just down the road from you".

Didn't hear about the wayward exhaust pipe :( Not tempted to do the work yourself?

And now Chris is such a dab hand at fibreglass, he'll patch up the underside of your front clam. Put him up for another night, and he'll wrap your car in nice shiny red vinyl and remove the need for a respray. :P

Totally missed this lol

I'm currently considering how I'm going to do the suspension refresh (think it'll need that for MOT due to abs light on) foremost I guess is where I can store the car, secondly who/ where to get it done. Having read the pdf Hairy linked the other day I was tempted some diy here; however changing the 'U' bend today on the kitchen sink has reminded me that working at a below waist level isn't such a great idea :(

and

How much it's going to cost for the re-spray - and a host of other stuff i'm considering

Then the SC. Which may well be set back by the first two matters. Location may well be an issue again though (no garage here) I may well take you up on that though :)

by the time you get all the other stuff done it will be summer time ish, which means a cover and we should be ok :) i recon if you took all the interior out, front lights off and all the other llittle bits it shouldnt take more than a weekend from start to finish :) as long as it doesnt clash with the TA just let me know :)

Cheers Chris and Chris :D

And so it begins (again)

Talking through options with Matt Bentley on FB. He seems like a top drawer bloke. I need to prepare a list of exactly what I want so we can agree a schedule and programme.

The costs are making me a tad dizzy though. I'm sensing no change out of £1.5k, on a car that's worth £5k at best. So i'm sat here pondering whether all the plans (which will exceed £5k) are worth it. I guess I'm at the same crossroads as many others have been, at the end of it all it'll be one of the most sorted VX's out there so meh...it's only money heh?

Finally got some time today to work on the VX after taking Debs to feed some baby goats...lol

Cut the replacement template for the full length pax carpet which will be going off to DTT tomorrow.

Stripped the CF dash plates off (which keep falling off) cleaned them up and will figure out some better fixings for them.

Sourced some blanking grommets for the footrest fixing holes. I wonder if Lee will check his inbox soon about the FOC footrest in my shed ;)
