it certainly can. its just a bit more awkward. we removed them with the clam on :) depending upon how close it is, you could also adjust the clam at the bottom. that might be easier.

Good to meet you and Deb's yesterday, Jules and good to see the Thatcham posse again. thumbsup Sorry the sum total of my involvement was carrying the passenger door into your garden but glad it all worked out in the end. Was certainly as painful as mine when it first had to come off. Unfortunately, I was paying Courtenay's for the privilege (though they were very fair with the additional labour) as part of the ProAlloy group-buy deal they did about 4 years ago. :beat:

Matt, admit it, you stole my lovely 10mm ratchet spanner as part payment for all your tools i have. Its a mystery. Couldn't find it before we left. Have unpacked everything now and its not got caught up in the wrong box. That probably means its somewhere in Jules' vx...

Oh no, not the dreaded "tool/implement left in the side sill rattle". Or my personal favourite, leaving a 17mm socket in the box section of the subframe that runs across the car behind the exhaust. :beat: I asked Jo about the spanner but she said seen altogether too many spanners yesterday, to be certain. :o :( I reckon it was probably matey who fell off his bike. :D

You attract them Matt. Three wierdos came up to us on the day, all three while you were there and all three wanted to talk to you

I was on my best behaviour and they were clearly under the (mistaken) impression that I was a nice approachable person. Christ, I didn't even swear when I picked up that red hot Dremel bit.

Found spanner, nearly went through the rear side window on the golf after being a bit unkind to it on a roundabout.

It lives :tt: Adjusted pax door...first attempt and it shuts/clears with a satisfying clunk :) Drivers door :( We tried and tried again, couldn't improve it (another day methinks) The undertray bolts were interesting....the first one (offside far) is M8......took some head scratching and a google on here to realise the others are/were M5  Both liners are in...note to self buy a rivnut tool ala JG's, need a few more of the jack nuts replacing. Moved the car and turned it around. This had the effect of charging the rad; undoing the bleed nipple before starting it saw quite a fair bit of air out and the coolant level dropping about 30mm in the expansion bottle. Started it -> up to temperature...bled it (cap off) repeat x5....a brisk 5 mile drive (spotted a black vx220)...coolant down an inch or so...topped it up....and ran out of time :( Next stop, check it over and start on the interior  PS: another thumbsup to vx.org enabling me to find the wheel bolt torque settings within a minute of (google advanced) searching for the info ;)

Indeed :)

The only real fail of the day was not sourcing a jack this morning :(

And after removing both clams and 4 liners I'm well low on bolts/screws...remind me to talk to you about replacements - and I need some wingnuts for the lights lol

:) I looked twice.....I don't think so......the two for the sills came from your kit! And strangely enough we found a very sad looking bit of GRP with what's left of a jack nut and bolt in it on the floor. no idea where it came from lol
