JUst looked £650 for a full set (ex vat tho)

They are obviously going to be in a different league to 888's etc!

Go for it, I may join you on that one :)

Make sure your suspension platform is bulletproof then dude!! The extra G you pull will put the LOT under strain! Beefy HCB's, Toe Links, Spring rates etc!

Where you get them from mate? I've been looking for cheap scrubs everywhere!

I find it hard to match up front to rears as I'd want different widths though.... These CR311's are a rally tyre, have you looked at the DZ03G's they look pretty good!

I've got a set of part worn 17s. Dunlop 640 iirc? Equiv 225/45/17 (mx5 britcar tyres). Anybody want em?

specifically a tarmac rally tyre, but whats the difference between that and circuit driving as far as the rubber is concerned?? they are ultra soft and i dont expect to see more than a couple of days out of them 90 quid for a set of slicks and similar for the cr111s

they would be ideal for anyone who uses 17s all round.
They come from one of Britcar teams and have lots and lots of meat left on them. Took a while to blag too.

Guys, don't run full slicks if you don't have any kind of subframe reinforcement (like a brace at least), you WILL crack it

does it really make that much difference compared to a cut slick? In the dry, i doubt it very much. (thats not to say that bracing the subframe isn't required, simply that if it is with a slick then it probably is with a cut slick as well)

Yep, it really does. If a driver is good enough to generate some heat int the tyres anyway ;)

A knackered slick won't grip any better than an 888 or 48, particularly if the car isn't set up for it. Slicks are a complete waste of time for tracks days IMO.

Whats this issue with the rear subframe cracking, ive heard of this before - what can be done about it ? Are we talking about cracking the item/steel cross member (with lots of round holes ) that runs along the back of the car, which one of the engine mounts hangs off ?

I'm yet to see a cracked subframe. They definitely flex big time, which is why I came up with the carbon sheer panel which I use on my car, but I've just never seen one fatigue to the point of cracking. The S1 Elise are far worse for this and I've only ever seen those crack after accidents.

I've noticed a very slight amount of rear-end steer under power - turns slightly right under power, left on overrun. Only noticeable on a straight road/track. Thought it was a slight amount of play in the mostly new rear bushes (none noticeable on ramp though) but does subframe contribute?

When was the car last geo'd? What shocks you on? What bushes did you fit?

Pop your shocks off and check they are set the same (if adjustable), then operated the wishbones through their full sweep (wheels and shocks still off). They should move freely and drop under their own weight thumbsup
