Not sure why I'm even thinking of doing this but hey go, LOoking for a vx220 to trade with my 03 plate z4 roadster. I just fancy something silly again lol I value the z4 at 7k ish and would be lOoking for a straight swap, based in Manchester Anyone interested give me a shout Really would like my old one back but not sure that will happen.

Nothing it's a bloody amazing car!! Love it to bits, but I sold my vx220 to get a more practical hense the z4 but now I have a clio 182 and a mk1 golf, both have back seats and a decent boot! So now I can go abut crazy again... It's probably a silly idea as the z4 is by far the best car I've had.. But doesn't quite tick that hooligan box haha

Tbh I disagree, I would never live with a vx220 as a daily as you can with the z4 and it also makes far yummier noises lol. As a weekend toy tho the vx us fun

Wasn't overly fond of my M roadster tbh. Creaked and rattled like an old boat. Good fun with the roof off but running costs were obscene. I now run a stage 2 SC vx and a mk5 golf and I'm better off each month.

I'm toying with the idea of upgrading the 3.0 to the m// but I can never make my mind up, maybe going back to a na vx220 is a side step, been there done that kinda thing, and I'm pretty sure I'd kill myself in a turbo lol.

Is there much difference between the turbo and the 3.0 Z4? performance wise

having owned

3 Vx220 n/a = 0-60 5.6 "only if you wanna kill the clutch 0-100 in 17.5
1 vx220 turbo = 0-60 4.7, 0-100 13.2
1 vx220 turbo stage 4 = 0-60 sub 4, 0-100 9.5 again this in only achieved in the right weather

Bmw z4 3.0 se 0-60 5.9, 0-100 in 14.5
bmw z4 m roadster 0-60 in 4.9, 0-100 in 11.3

Having owned all four different cars which even you choose it will either be fast, very fast, or insanely fast

the last vx220 i had was a standard turbo, and there is no way on the right road a turbo would out sprint it the z4m roadster.

My VX is not a 'standard' Turbo and like I said 'it just murders the Z4 in every aspect' on any road not just the 'right' one...

Is a turbo really 4.5 secinds quicker than an n/a to 100mph?!

Remapped tubby would probably be quicker than the M Roadster/Coupe but after 60 ish I think the M would catch up and pull away. In the corners the tubby would be faster, so it's only on long straights that the M would have it. Only thing I would say is that with 265 tyres it's alot easier to put down 300bhp+ of power.

And my friend has a stage 3 z4m which would murder a stage 4 turbo on any road, plus having come from a stage 4 turbo the power delivery is a nightmare to put on the road :-)
