OK, so not actually selling these... yet... but further to a bit of badgering... Looking to see what sort of price a set could fetch if they were to be made again. No promises at all as I have no idea as yet if it is possible or feasible but I do need to ask. These would need to be sold as a pair as individually they are pretty useless so if anybody wanted them, how much would they be prpared to pay.

I'd be interested in a set, happy to pay in the region of 1k but would want a hinged version and if poss the corners at the bottom of the rear cover rounded off, not square ;-)

Wouldn't want it in carbon myself as its will out price most people and has little benefit. Would the roof sections have fixings along with the rear section? Also does it have a hinge in place to lift up or is it fixed in place? People might want to know (me included) if the rear section requires drilling into the clam and could it be reversed come sale time? The word group buy needs to be mentioned as I know a lot on here are interested in a hard back. £1000+ is a figure I guess I would pay.

These are single skin pieces and are aimed at people who are prepared for working on the fixings. There are no hinges, no fastenings. I agree that they would be offered in fibreglass as you don't want to know how much these are in carbon.

Well I don't think I'm the only one to say I have no clew when ot comes to fixings on fibreglass. If this was resolved and a good system was worked out by some bright spark then alot more would be up for this. I'll hold my hands up and say this idea would be for looks over function. So could you have the hardtop off while the hardback is still in place? Just giving you some ideas, not picking it apart.

Are you sure. I asked a similar question and found it to be a grey area.

You need two working brake lights for an MOT, the middle one is just for shits and giggles.

This really depends on if your car is a track car or a road car. I found the complete lack of rear visibility on the road in the Exige a pain in the a*se... This is not a mod i'd want on a road car.

Couldn't be that hard to move the light. Can I just borrow it so I can chav it up a bit It would cut down my plug making time. I think if your gonna offer as a group buy it needs to be a solution that works out of the box with hinges and clips or what ever. Numpty's like me have no time to be sourcing extra special you just need to get one of these and bend it a bit then sew it onto the crossbar type thing.

Depends how friendly your MOT tester is I guess? Strictly speaking my understanding is all cars after a certain point had to have the third light, and if it was fitted it has to work. I tend to agree I'd only want one for track only, and fitting it looks like a bit of a pita given it'd be a clam off job?

Realisticly i would pay around the £400 mark + whatever i could get for my original lined tubby hardtop. I would also want to know it was going to drop engine bay temps and would want to know how much weight it adds. You must have a figure in mind to sell these at? Im not convinced you would get enough takers at £1k + to make these worth while without people seeing gains. especially when you consider tthe value o the cars now and once people factor in spraying/fitting etc.

Vehicles first used on or after 1 January 1971 must be fitted with two obligatory stop lamps. Additional stop lamps fitted and connected must be tested. Where extra lamps are fitted and there is doubt as to whether they are connected, the benefit of this doubt should be given to the presenter. therefore if the third brake light is removed then there is no issue,If left in and partially seen by mot tester(through the vents in fibreglass)then its testable. It must work(and not be obscured) unless it can be seen to clearly be disconnected.(ie see wires not plugged in)

I can't use it on my track car because I can't wear a helmet with the hard top on.
