booke up for both days and doing the newhaven crossing,prob stay in newhaven on the 2nd and the 6th on return as the journey is a long one! and the crossing times are a little crueler for us this year plenty of time to think of something daft to write under the spoiler

Ill be staying in Newhave on the return trip as well, might be a week later than everyone else unless i sought my ferry though :D . Anybody know of a cheap hotel with parking and a late bar?

Guys as much as I loved watching Lisa puke into a paper bag. Then Joe puke into a paper bag. Lisa and me are going to travel via the tunnel rather than that awful ferry this year. Car and trailer cost on the Newhaven Dieppe is £253 with total journey of 358 miles and 4hr crossing. Via chunnel it's £180 and 481 miles 35 minute crossing. Doing the Eurotunnel it works out about 2hrs extra behind the wheel but 1hr 30 less total travel time and with the flexibility of departure times it means I will be home by 9pm this time rather than 3am. Also works out about £30 cheaper once I factor in diesel costs. Plus Lisa wont vomit (I hope). JimmyJamJerusalem Folkstone - Calais Eurotunnel - 12:30ish out and 5pm-ish return.

Yep, I've just costed everything out mile, time and money wise and the tunnel route is still the cheapest way even paying full price for the ticket. Factor in using the old Clubcard vouchers again and it's a no brainer. It's only an hour and 20 minutes longer drive. Much more flexible on timings as well as I didn't massively fancy a 7am ferry from Portsmouth to Caen.

Now to decide whether to commit to keeping the car until August...... :unsure:

:sick: Lisa was pregnant and Joe was just been a fanny because he cant handle his drink and had a bad head :gayfight: . It was definatley a lot more uncomfortable on the return trip though!
