We do the D928 which is a good route. Really nice restaurant couple of kms north of Quincampoix which i would like to go to again someday. Will head out morning on the tunnel, but will mostly stay off the A28 and take the classic route , D901 Boulogne to Abbeville and D438 Rouen to Alencon, then D338. Plenty of time to stop for friteries.

Hi guys,
Good news, our Mercure Le Mans hotel has just been upgraded to 4 stars and comes now with better rooms, air cond, flat screens, new furnitures etc., which is all very positive.
Due to that, they have raised their normal room prices for the public quite significantly (now 75E/night) but, due to our good relationship with them, Mercure is still 100% willing to support greatly LoT, so the good partnership is as strong as ever. Basically we will get a new LoT room price for 2012 with a slight increase from the current 39E (2011 price).
I am since last week in the process of discussing that new room price with the hotel board as our position is quite unique and, to be honest, ANY special rate below 55E/night is now regarded as exceptional and needs full board AND shareholders agreement. Nevertheless, we will find an agreement NEXT WEEK. It takes a bit of time to do that on both sides, but there is still plenty time guys!
I know that quite a few of you have been trying to book rooms on their own as the hotel told me so. Don't worry: all the rooms are onhold for you, no problem, and of course they do speak English as ever. Once the new partner price will be agreed, the Mercure will come back to you guys with the new rate, that's why they haven't yet. It is in your interest to wait for the new partner price as this will be much much less than the new normal price, so Mercure did well for you not coming back yet.
At the end, it will be same hotel, same great service / people, same great bar, much better rooms etc. and a few more Euros per room. To put a figure, it will be 4X E/room, we are currently discussing the X, so it will be a VERY NICE price anyway for LoT members...
I hope that helps and again sorry for the Mercure (they are supporting us a lot but this kind of rates are really exceptional and require time to be agreed)
Claude
