It's a brand name. Iron brew isn't the same thing. IRN-BRU made by Barrs "Original and Best" "Made in Scotland from girders" etc. Iron brew is the same as calling panda cola, coke. Rivets was the only decent rip off. Dunno what happened to it?

Irn-Bru

That's Scottish spelling. I prefer English corrected spelling
 I was told its the best cure for a hangover, suppose you wouldn't know  Maybe a Scot can tell me, I did try it once and was surprised how I felt later but could have been a fluke. ( can you spam your own thread ? ).

Have either of the sides put out any figures with oil stripped out of the equation? Scotland without oil pretty much becomes Estonia.

If you dont have London you need to sell a lot of Fish and Whisky!

This thread has fallen too far behind... :D

So, what's Plan B Big Eck's since the general consensus of people who actually know what they are talking about disagree with the Plan A (or just The Plan / White Paper)

http://www.bbc.co.uk...otland-25950684

Even the more radical Scottish Greens have confirmed a currency union if effectively pointless.

Stop trying to cause trouble.

It's quite clear that he was being neutral. According to the article, the Scottish nationalists also agree with him and it's just common sense.

So it is possible to have a common currency and for Scotland to be Independent.

Sort of.

Provided they do what they are told.

And the the rest of the country is willing to agree to it.

And we extract the best possible terms rather than the Salmon 'we will keep the goods bits and you take all the crap' fantasies.

Any they don't try screw UK students over on University places while welcoming EU counterparts with open arms.

And (place any other demands here)

By the way, the topic came up at work yesterday (I didn't bring it up).

Several persons of Scottish patronage present and all in agreement. Got told in no uncertain terms:

"There is no point discussing it because it isn't going to happen. Period."

"Scots don't want Independence, it's just the bloody Scottish Politicians and that xxx Samond"

Seemed pretty convincing to me.

Without the exclusive rights to good quality Whisky, Scotland wouldn't even be like Estonia. Wales perhaps?
