If they have to ditch the pound, I am opening an off licence 1 mile from Hadrian's Wall. Imagine to £££s hidden away from the taxman that cannot be exchanged for the new currency - they are going to have to spend it somewhere.....

I'd happily join you in that venture... Better start sourcing the Buckfast now, as the rate that disappears across the border is frightening.

What about RBS? Can we just off-load the whole stinking/sinking mess to Salmond?

Unfortunately we still own the bank... how do we offload it?
They've just reported another £8bn losses for 2013, their biggest loss to date. I get the feeling we'll own it for a few more years yet, we can't sell it off until it becomes profitable again.
Without the UK, that bank would have pulled an independent Scotland into bankruptcy

We just add another £46b to the national debt we transfer to Scotland.Unfortunately we still own the bank... how do we offload it?
Though they may have had a different regulatory system that might have prevented it or at least mitigated the amount of loss. The Scots being famously financially prudent and non risk taking and all that. Oh wait a minute, it was two Scottish chancellors who oversaw that fcuk up.Without the UK, that bank would have pulled an independent Scotland into bankruptcy
