That element exists in both sides. Let's not forget she's a personal friend of Gordon Brown, a labour donor and came out as a no voter last year. She obviously prefers funding trident missiles, 80£ billion rail links that go no where than free education and helping those up the road from her in Pilton living off food parcels. Everyone makes their choices eh! ;)

I think she articulates some key points very well (not surprisingly).

http://www.bbc.co.uk...litics-27793967

Of course the BBC is doing a terrible job of providing a balanced view...

She does, and its how many of us feel - the vision of a fairer, forward-looking society is an aspriational idea, and one we'd all love to see, but at the same time we have to be concious of the real risks and balance the two views. If you're nationalistic then its easy to ignore one side of things, which is a pity.

The fact that its been sold as the real solution to issues such as poverty, inequality and the implication we are subject to some form of democratic deficeit has only detracted and delayed focus on finding real solutions much of our problems.. And of course that it could (if things don't go to plan) exascerbate there issues even more. Hopefully after the SNP have had their shot at the title, they'll get back to the real business of government - serving the people that elected them, not their own party political agenda..

... but its undeniably the more vocal nats who are, and always have been the worst offenders..

You're stuff on nuclear weapons and HS2 don't even deserve a response... Last time I checked education was pretty much free, and the requirement for food parcels has nothing to do with being in the UK..

The Yes campaign certainly seems to have a stronger penchant for the 'blindy and unquestionably' from what i've seen.

Ross. Eh? Food bank uptake is a result of massive benefit cuts.

Well, you'd back another yes voter, as that's what you believe.

She's just another voice saying what many think - seems logical..

Ross. Eh? Food bank uptake is a result of massive benefit cuts.

Prove it.

Many food bank users are working people. Undoubtely benefits freezes are a contributing factor, along with wage stagnation, inflation (especailly with regards to food and utilities) and unemployment. What would an independant Scotland do to avoid this - increases taxes and spend more on benefits? Increase the minimum wage while reducing our competetivness..?

Not quite.

Not saying a yes is unachievable, but it would require a signifcant number of undecideds chosing yes. The problem is that the number of undecides is dwindling, and you can't count all them all voting yes..

Don't be daft Ross. It's on the BBC site and is obviously totally biased against the Yes campaign and is just more interference by the Westminster mafia.

The biggest financial issue for the UK government is tax avoidance, not the poor. We can start with a better tax system. Yes many many people in food banks are now the employed. But its their fault right? All chancers? Nothing to do with zero hour contracts and massive part time employment to bring down unemployment numbers let's not forget those forced to work for nothing. Great policies.

To add you need to be assessed and receive a voucher to get access to food aid. Now at its highest level. The red cross handing out food aid for the first time in the UK since WW2. Never mind though the postoffice was sold off for a song and some cronies are made millions. Never mind a cabinet made of millionaires. Totally in touch with the populous.

Yes the BBC is a horrific place to get any stats. How about the one the government won't release that cost the tax payer £40k?

Sorry, got confused between fantacy and reality for a moment. Must have been something to do with the Harry Potter link :D

Given the bashing I got from the Atheist lot on here, the level of blind faith is shocking...

It depends what your priorities are Zuber. Even having an aim to do something better would be a start. But aslong as the finance sector is doing well eh?
