Even fit is Yes or NO I have always said that all committees should be made up of an odd number...and that the odd number should be 1 in all instances

....what ever way its a load of b*llocks and the man on the street cannot alter any decision unless they, as in many cases past and present... "call to arms"....

realistically ...what will really alter what ever the decision.....

...as said before ...the Scottish goal keepers will still be crap (in general)......

Low tax, business-friendly environment, cut the public sector drastically, and become an attractive place to invest, away from the government-led support and intervention that most think will bring them real opportunity..

Thoughts? Anybody on here other than me and Scott? :D

That could be the case with or without independence though surely.

For a hundred businesses that don't want independence there's a hundred that are for it and fifty that don't care. Business for Scotland is the pro Indy group. Looks like the banks want a currency union. This is good news for yes. They will be lobbying for that after a yes vote.

I hoped this would bring Scott out of hiding...

Scott, please show me the businesses that are pro-independance. And not those listed on the BfS site that are run by yes supporters, I mean real big businesses. Apart from a couple of airlines that predictably would like lower air passenger duty, and others that operate on a more international basis (such as some oil companies), I don't know of any...

Of course the banks want a currency union. But why do you think they would lobby for it, as opposed to move operations? I thought the banks / bankers were all Tories with their snout in the trough?

People in Scotland would never vote on it though would they, as many can't see past the public sector dependancy that we currently have..

Because it would cost them millions to move. They are being prudent as any business would. But the reality is in a yes vote they will look to see how it plays out and will lobby for the best situation for them. Much like they are at the moment. Oddly these companies function all over the world but somehow an independent Scotland will be impossible...

.. but it may cost them millions more in things like transaction costs, dealing with different regulators, and what ever tax and fiscal (we have no idea from the SNP currently) we would have..

Its not about where they function, but where they are based, operate from, and are required to pay tax.

TBH, he's not the first to warn of this, and from that point, its not news.

Darling is useless but Salmond is (a well rehearsed) obnoxious.

The cheers do seem to be louder from the Yes audience which is ironic when the BBC have been so artificially impartial with their reporting of independence.  it seemed more balanced from stv or whatever that foreign channel was called.
