The hatred used to be a one way thing, but I expect the English will be singing for 'anyone but Scotland' just as often in the future.

this.

Which is remarkably unfair, as it is a couple of mouthy twats we hate, not the nation itself... But hey, if we can all be tarred with one brush, so shall they.

Remember Mr Burns and his slant drilling rig?

How far can that go, and can it do undersea?

Why do you think the manufacture and installation of offshore wind turbines have been 'paused' along the east coast. ;)

No no. You won't need anything of ours. We're massively subsidised mind. You'll be better off immediately when we go and all that ;)

I never experienced the Scottish bitterness towards the English until I joined up. I then convinced myself it was isolated to my workplace because a good friend was Scottish and the nicest guy you could meet.

Turns out he was born in Yorkshire.

Also, that's some drivel above. The debate is not anti English. There has been no "tarring everyone with the same brush' etc. Its been a discussion about how best to take Scotland forward in the 21st century and the pro's and cons of going it alone. I would dare you to find any anti English sentiment from anyone who has posted here. I don't have an anti-english bone in my body and im offended by the mere sentiment of the suggestion I do because I think our local issues could be managed better locally in a country with a different culture and political slant from where its governing powerbase is. We've been given an opportunity to discuss our future and how we manage our own resources. Responding to that with some of the bile and uninformed drivel I've seen over the duration does not help and its largely ignored. Have a nice day all.

I presume you aren't suggesting what I said was drivel unless of course you worked with me at some time, which would make sense of course.

Doing it for many years. Its called directional drilling. No slant required.

Sorry Scott, but I noticed it with a small but unpleasant minority when I visited earlier this year.

In any case, whether it's yes or no it's like a divorce. You can't expect rUK to be happy about it or especially cooperative if it's a yes.

You're right it should be about governance and not nationalism - but on both sides there's a fair amount of nationalism, which is ridiculous in the 21st centuary.

We posted at the same time Myles. I've had banter down south. Being a cnut isn't exclusive to Scotsmen. However I'm smart enough to not judge a whole population by a few idiots.

I have on several occasions, when in Scotland, fallen foul of some very anti-English sentiment. My 'tar' comment was meant tongue-in-cheek, if it upset or offends you then please accept my apology.

No sweat Chris. I probably got more animated than I needed to earlier. For that I also apologise. An excellent short punchy fact driven video. Worth a watch. (For Kurt especially ;) )
