At Glasgow's Theatre Royal, Kevin Bridges invites comedians Hal Cruttenden, Jack Dee, Kerry Godliman and Frankie Boyle to give their views on the Scottish independence referendum.

Slightly off topic, but...
From a purely selfish point of view. Should Scotland go Independent and run into troubled waters, would it have a negative imact on rUK other than the obvious less trade between them.
e.g. Oil revenues not as much as hoped, or increase in borrowing/debt due to proposed more socialist agenda etc. Would it impact rUK more than say the rest of the EU in some way ?

Watching the football tonight (Germany v Scotland), it's the first time I've ever seen the whole pub wanting Scotland to lose, and how much bad feeling there is. English pubs have always been pro-Scottish until now.
It's surprising what a few politicians and the media can do to a nation.

Indeed It seems people have woken up and disaster planning has become more focussed Tomorrow will be interesting to see where the markets moveThis is a worrying turn of events.. I think we'll see some concerning financial data over the next few days, as companies and major organisations start to take the threat seriously. I know I will be very conscious of it in my near term financial planing, especially as I was thinking a remortgaging in the near future. The other thing that bothers me, is that there has been such a significant swing over the last month, based on a couple of tv debates, and some BS nationalist scare stories about the NHS.. People really are stupid.!

To be honest, all these granting extra powers if Scotland stays in the UK are a bit much. Either stay or go, but not blackmail to stay in. The constitution would look a real dogs breakfast - and it does a bit already.

Agreed, there shouldn't be blackmail, but they have to offer incentives, as many want to remain in the UK, but want more localised power. Problem is the nationalist parties will always want more regardless of what happens, so there always been a part of me that says "just give them what they want to shut them up" in the same way you treat a child who constantly moan because they know no different..
I think the only real way forward now for the UK is to move to an almost federalised system with power devolved on an equal basis to respective countries, assuming the UK stays together.
That's fundamentally what most Scots want (and would have voted en masse for such a Devomax option), and now we'll hear such calls from other parts of the UK. Well, maybe, apart from the Welsh and the N.Irish, both of who seem to recognise that they do pretty well out of the current set-up. So, for England then..
