Their headquarters will no longer be in Edinburgh.
Where they are just now.
How will they get there if they don't move ?

The video you posted has a statement from the Chief Exec saying they will move their registered headquarters.
Is he wrong ?

Does that statement insinuate moving to a new building and massive job losses and a move of operations?
No.
Did the BBC say that they would be moving to a new building and losing jobs ?

Which isn't what the BBC said btw
Kinda the whole point of your argument is that the BBC lied.
Still can't see where.

Scott - this is quite simple really.
You've said that the BBC lied. I'm asking where they lied. What did they say that was untrue?

I'm guessing as you haven't provided any evidence we can both agree that the BBC haven't lied then we can both agree they haven't and put that to bed. Excellent.
The BBC reported the fact that the royal bank of SCOTLAND will become a English registered company HQ'd in England in the event of a yes vote. I think that's pretty newsworthy.
Your second point is a good one.
I work for Sky who's registered office is Grant way in Isleworth. That's where most of the directors are and that's where all the action happens. So if i heard that the registered office of Sky was moving to Germany or Italy (as it could under the new acquisition) i would think that jobs would go with it.
if my CEO put out a hastily created email saying they wouldn't i wouldn't believe him. As it happens the CEO of Sky Italia and Sky Deutschland have both put out statements saying "don't worry, no change" and i don't beleive them either. Especially given the meetings i've been in.

Got to admit some yes supporters are sounding more and more frightening in terms of what they think is going on.
You'll all have seen the advice to use a pen when voting yes so it can't get rubbed out ?

Now I confess to having no idea who Sillars is nor the political slant of The Scotsman but do you not think comments like this are likely to have an effect on the confidence of the financial and petroleum companies and see them making even more sweeping contingency plans?
Former SNP deputy leader Jim Sillars has said there will be a "day of reckoning" for BP and the banks in the event of a Yes vote.
The Scotsman and Daily Telegraph are reporting Mr Sillars - pictured campaigning with Alex Salmond - said: "This referendum is about power, and when we get a Yes majority, we will use that power for a day of reckoning with BP and the banks."
They also report Mr Sillars stating BP would be nationalised in the event of a Yes vote.

Jim Sillars is a previous SNP deputy party leader...
It's been no surprise certain individuals and businesses, especially close to the Scottish Government, have been reluctant to openly voice opinions in the past. Its probably not endemic, but hints at the negative side of political control, which the SNP have completely at this stage.

Intelligent people listen and pay attention to the detail.
Unfortunately there are less intelligent people who don't and therefore make snap decisions based on that. That's what the purpose of these stories is.
How many people have you spoken to who could tell you no more than a bunch of headlines that have been banded about ("I heard that we will get £5k if we go independent")? These are the people that can sway a vote.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if he'd been kicked out as some kind of Marxist nutbag or an unacceptable face of the SNP after some kind of internal reds under the bed clear out.
Posted 12 September 2014 - 03:18 PM
Sorry, guess that should be bawbag and not nutbag.
