Well, thank fck the voting is closed! Let the media scrum commence in the morning (or overnight if you can't sleep lol)
But what are the media going to do with their coverage now?... guess we'll be reverting back to madeleine mccann, baby P, Diana, and all the other things they go back to when there is bugger all else to put in the news.

A clear cut majority with a 10% lead.
Common sense and practical realism prevailed, with people able to see through all the rose tinted overoptimistic hyperbowl. Well done Scotland

Agreed, it has done some damage. Causing some resentment etc.
But hopefully also provides a positive opportunity to sort out some issues that did need sorting. Better regional representation, less London focus etc.

This type of thing would always cause fractures. There are now 1.5m Scots plus all the disbursed countrymen who also sided with 'yes' who need to look at themselves and decide how to proceed; accept or be angry.Lord Reid... Don't forget the vote has led to a damaged relationship with the rest of the UK.

Really? That was never really going to happen, despite the hype on here lol. Agree with posts about not going back to business as usual, especially in England. More devolved powers to regions looks likely. Roll on the general election next year. New thread on thatGenuinely surprised, thought it was going to be yes

Very pleased. Not for England or our Tory Government (Toffs...boooh!) but for the UK - our United Kingdom.

Yes I think lost in all the arguing about Government what was never covered really in the Media was the simple fact that the PEOPLE in the rest of the union didnt want the Scots to leave. The Union is part of our collective heritage its not about a master/slave relationship. The Scots have an inferiority complex. Some of the dejected Yes supporters on the radio were talking like they were living under the old Hussain regime in Iraq. Political masters that send their kids to uni for free and give you a better healthcare system than their "own" citizens? We'll have some of that In reality the Scots are as far removed from Westminster as I am up here in Yorkshire. I only visited London for the first time when I was about 28!
Its a great result for England, the RUK massively beneficial for Scotland, will also help the deluded people in Spain fighting for independence in a global world. The nation state is an out of date concept in these times. We are European first and foremost in terms of our economies and the plain old business of survival and not having wars with our neighbors. Then we are British, then we are English/Scottish/Welsh/Irish. When we get this free trade agreement with the US signed the Scots will be very relieved they are still in the club. Flogging a bit of Whiskey to the Norwegians will be piffle compared to what they will be doing with the US and Canada in 10 years time.
