Yes, I saw that, I'd be pissed off if I was almost 60 and had put that much effort into something only to lose though, to be fair.

Scott's enthusiasm throughout the whole campaign has been commendable, his debates with Ross were indeed better than anything posed by any of the actual politicians. Having been involved in more than a few private discussions with him I can say that it's a passion that runs deep and he truly has the right to be upset with the final result. My Facebook is awash with posts like those Mark has described, those people are mainly doing it for 'likes' which is a crying shame, as there really is no need for it as all it is doing is driving a wedge between friends and families. Well played Scott, I have enjoyed it despite my input to this thread being mainly jovial. We look forward to your final summary! thumbsup

I actually just woke up there (been up till 9am) to read the news about our fearless leader... Had to rub my eyes a bit on that one tbh! I sat up watched the results with two Yes mates. There were feelings if doubt starting to creep in even after just the first vote, Clackmannan, as they needed to get off to a good start.. After that, it seemed mostly bad news for them, with a couple of minor peaks. When Glasgow did not come through quite as strong as hoped, partly due to slightly lower turnout, they knew it was game over. TBH, and this is a feeling many will have, I'm just relieved at the result. At the same time, I am very keen that the process of realigning our position with respect to further devolution of power moves along as promised. Of course, things will not happen exactly as proposed by the 3 union parties, as this has now become not just about Scotland anymore, but I am confident that this does mark an important step in a stable and lasting transfer of power that's allows us to be confident in our place in the UK.. I feel bad for those who are disappointed. No one wants to see their fellow country men feeling dejected. But for all the aspects I disagreed, and in some senses almost hated certain aspects of their campaign, it needs to be acknowledged that the process they have made us go through will be ultimately liberating and introspective from a political sense, and I'd hope that if the UK can follow in at least a small measure, the level of engagement we have seen, you'll all be better for it..

I think the Scots have made the right choice. I for one am really pleased you're all still part of Britain. It'll be great if this process can be the start of a revolution for the way politics works in the UK. I think Eddie Izzard hit the nail on the head on Tuesday when he said: I keep hearing that one of the main reasons were having this argument is that the Scots are fed up with Westminster, he said. Id like to tell them were all fcuking fed up of Westminster!

What are you trying to show there? People trying to stop brainwashed children from burning the union flag?

I'm sorry that's happening. But try not to confuse "the yes campaign" with the few hot headed fucktards which exist on both sides.

I think it's fair to say that there are many, many more 'hot headed fucktards' in the Yes camp.

Gaaaaaaaah  :ffs: etc I'll write a summary up over the weekend. I'm going to get drunk tonight and its my birthday tomorrow so probably then too...I'll write something on Sunday.

I'm glad you're magnanimous Scott, I have still been watching the thread after I was accused of rambling. But on the plus side of my ramble you have used a similar comment I used & while I'm truly pleased IMHO the result turned out this way, I truly hope the whole situation stays civilised? In the short term & long term?

Looks like you have totally misunderstood what is happening. That is a saltire being snatched off a wee lassie by a loyalist. This is loyalist scumbags. They fcuking won and they still do this. The saltire has been burnt in George sq. By Scotsmen.
