The best thing to do if you want to go IC rather than CC is to talk to Liam, as has been said already there are different core specs and sizes dependant on your requirements.

Liams always going to big it up as its his product.

People visit forums to get honest opinions not just what the manufacturer says. The customers will be honest as they have no investment in the product especially after spending a lot of money. If people were unhappy with it somebody would have slagged them off by now, but nobody that has one fitted to my knowledge has?

Liam will give you facts and tell you if his product will be suitable for you, don't forget Liam can also supply & fits CC's as well!

People generally will tell you whatever they have bought is the dogs danglies, especially after their arse dyno tells them it is! Customers are very vocal about service received, but are much more biased about products purchased, how many people bought a resistor pack off eBay guaranteed to give you 25bhp which we know is shite... but they are leaving feedback saying 'its like a new car'

So if you want data speak to Liam - he has it all & he'll be open & honest, if it's for you great, if after speaking with him and research on here you'd rather go CC thats great as well, its all about options and its great people like MMG, CS, Pro-Alloy, ect are providing them for us. thumbsup

Stuff ive bought for the car ive slagged off if ive felt its not up to scratch. Plenty of other people slag products off on here as well but i do accept that plenty of people bite there tongue. Don't rush in to anything Aimy and who knows a cheap second hand unit might be sold on the cheap and then its less of a gamble to waste cash.

I don't feel like i can help Aimy anymore so i wont comment anymore on it ill just sit back and wait for Joe to come along :P . Good luck with whatever you decide thumbsup

I understand that :-) but surely no one knows how good a product is without data

Argh!!!!!

Comments like this annoy me. If its on the car, does what its supposed to do and you get out of it what you expect, then its a good purchase. looking at spec sheets do you know how your car will feel? There are very few people on here that have tried both and can tell you how the car responds, or feels with both and even then it will depend how you like your car to drive.
the rest have tried one, and will quote numbers and spec sheets to try and justify their purchase.

It's a pretty reasonable request Bob. I bought the original Pace chargecooler system supplied by Courtenay and logged my own data on the road and on track to compare with the standard intercooler. I was really disappointed with the results and if I had access to comparable data in advance would not have bought it. Plus I think my feedback to Courtenay had some influence on them sourcing a much better replacement from Pro Alloy.

It is a lot of money to outlay on something based on the well meaning but unsubstantiated feedback we often see on here, like... my car is way better and never backs off power with the new xyz fitted. Most OBD systems can log intake temps now, so it shouldn't be too difficult to source data (road and track use) for cars with each system.

The stage 4 MMG intercooler is very good and works very well on a stage 2 map, You all know how quick my car was at the national, well that was a stage 2 map with the stage 4 intercooler, If there is any extra lag you would need to be a computer to notice it as it would be in the milliseconds I would say.... MMG intercooler thumbsup Now throw your laggy charge coolers away and go buy one ;)

Not sure of the exact price but around £1k plus vat. I believe that includes the pipework and tophat.

I data logged the MMG I/C at Le Mans last year, this was the post I/C Tmap sensor. Its quite clear to see when also looking at the Air Mass sensor and Ignition timing whats happening.

There would be more value in improving airflow through the stock IC than replacing it with a slightly bigger one. CC systems can work very well and more suited to a short rear engine car but to get the most from them they need to be configured well. If you are in the market for an IC or CC I would look at people with real comparable data, not those with anecdotal evidence.

Partridges', he wanted some reliable data, plus I had a few other cars that we also got data from , including one with a dbilas manifold.
