Any ideas on fitting costs? :)

£100 and you'll need to find a free 1/2 day over a weekend for me to do it.

Update: I've secured a supply of washer bottle brackets and EV1 connectors for the bypass valve, I expect both by the end of the week. I have completed a few units that I can provide without the brackets (I have a small supply of EV1 connectors) for people who would like to fit their heaters this weekend - the bracket is cosmetic as the washer bottle is held in place by the piping anyway. I will ship out the brackets when they are available.

I assume that we are following the order of the list as and when they have been made. Will you be contacting the individuals when their heater is ready to ship? Thanks

In my experience they haven't been that difficult to remove.. but Teckie's experience has been er.. eventful.

Im dreading doing mine. The exhaust from the heater to the cabin lies against the bodywork, there isn't even enough room to fit the ducting on. In fact you can see where Vauxhall have cut a bit out of the foam on the heater air output because there is a low profile bolt on the bodywork in front of it. So that means there isn't even enough room for a piece of thin foam between the air exhaust and the car. Stupid.

Yeah, hopefully my experience won't be representative.

If I'd just been replacing the heater box, I'd have only encountered two problems. One of them would have been one of the bolts that holds the battery clamp/washer reservoir bracket in place, who's rivnut was spinning in place and meant you couldn't take the bolt out (had dealt with that previously though). The other much more painful problem, was the same rivnut issue with the heater box fixing bolt underneath the brake servo. Hard enough to see and access it as it is but, even worse when it turns out to be a corroded blob of something ferrous and carries on unscrewing infinitely. Due to the impossible access, I just ended up having to break the securing bracket off the OE heater box with the help of a screwdriver and then with the help of Mr Dremel, cut the head off the bolt and push the rivnut through the bulkhead and will now replace it.

I just compounded the problems by also having to replace the air distribution box that had broken around the inlet (from the heater box) collar at some point in the past. That's meant wiper motor out, wiper linkage out, bonnet lock off, wiper motor support bracket out and the fecking thing still doesn't want to budge. :beat:

It'll be a miracle if I have a wiper that wipes, when this all goes back together. :(

Still, I'll be plenty warm. :)

The new heater uses different rivnuts so you might not need to replace it at all - maybe just a blanking gromet

That thought had occurred to me actually, but at the time only you and I were on the list so didn't seem that worthwhile.

But yeah I'd definitely be up for that.
