Right guys, some bad news: I've had to switch a few materials used to make the heaters and as a result I can't justify making them at £200 any more - specifically I have had to switch from a silicon based sealant which costs about a fiver to a specalised industrial polyurathane glue which costs £38 a shot, the heater control has gone from about 40p to close to £10 and finally the polo fan itself is getting harder to source. With that in mind the price for the unit will increase to £250, i'm very sorry about this but if I don't do this then I simply can't afford to make them. this will be effective from 7. Robin onwards on the list - Bargi, I'm aware you still don't have yours and will honor the existing price. sorry guys.

Meh, should have put myself as no 6 on the list like I had the chance to at the start!
Never mind, frankly as long as this works as it seems to, I'll still happily pay the £250.

As above, so long as it works and is a fit and forget solution then £250 is fine. Good that you've found the issues early on rather than sending out and then having problems (incidentally what were the issues necessitating the revisions?)

Essentially the plastics used are a composite made up of nylon and acrylonitrile styrene acrylate which are difficult to bond together, I found the original silicon gasket material I used was weaping and collecting on the top of the heater. The stuff i'm using now is made by CIBA/BASF - the company that made the epoxy for the chassis, and is specifically designed to bond the type of plastics used on the heater. Not easy to source though.

the heater control was simply a current issue - the wattage of the original part wasn't high enough to cope with the power being sent through it when in the semi-open position.

Yes.

there's a Chinese supplier who still make them, i'm trying to get hold of them for a minimum order number. sourcing them from the UK is very expensive (£175)

I'm still in too, it's a small price to pay to be able to see where I'm going for more than 2 seconds on a cold morning.
